No offense to Flashdance fans....and this year is the 30th anniversary of Flashdance's release...but is this really the best we can expect from Warner for the rest of the year regarding Paramount catalogue on blu-ray? How about another Paramount movie that is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year---that would be Terms of Endearment. How about Serpico, which is 40 years old this year. For me, these would be much more appropriate titles to release on blu-ray for the first time. I certainly hope to see both of those announced before the end of this year.

Relax there, guy. These are announcements for August, not the holiday season. Let's wait a few months before we commence with the ranting and raving.

I'd reserve that sentiment more for WB's decision to also release Par's THE PRESIDIO on the same day. Surely, there are better-remembered--and just plain better--titles from that catalog to put out on Blu for the first time.

If we have Footloose (which I do like and own mind you), why not Flashdance which actually was a bigger hit at the box office?

Flashdance has been a long time coming on Blu... it was supposed to come out six freaking years ago before Paramount shelved it.

There's only a handful of titles left I still really want on BD that have a realistic shot of coming out, this is one of them. Deal with it.

Speaking of footloose we need a re-release, I haven't seen this film in years might have to go back revisit for the Blu-ray release...

Footloose looked fine on BD considering the source material (it was done to coincide with the remake), plus there were new extras that weren't on previous DVD editions. I'm very content with what we have. Footloose was never a title that looked exceptionally pretty. More curious how Flashdance will look especially so many scenes at night and the dance-sequences in the club were very dark as well. Either it could be snowing grain or have too much DNR.

Hopefully everything that was on the 2007 DVD release of Flashdance will be ported over (though it was disappointing that Beals didn't participate in any of them). Wouldn't hurt if they added the VH1 Behind The Music or E! True Hollywood Story as an additional bonus.

I picked up this today at my local Wal Mart for $12.96. So yeah, some Wal Marts have it.

I complained to Amazon as the BD which arrived with me in the UK had no sign of the CD which I believe was dropped from the product and despite this Amazon are still saying it is included in their product description.

Got a cut and paste email back not answering the problem but saying as product faulty they are giving me full refund and I can keep the BD. I do spend hundreds a month with them in UK and US so nice to get a break.

Worth complaining if an overseas Amazon customer of Flashdance.

Flashdance is coming back in print on June 20 as a double feature blu-ray with Footloose:

This blu-ray is one of the best for fans of a movie.
The transfer and extras are 4 stars!
