I have a shed load of DVDs in my collection, but since blu-rays I don't really buy DVDs anymore. They are all kept apart in the collection, but I just wondered if people still kept there's.
I am considering removing them altogether from my collection, and just keeping boxsets etc. on show. |

I tried many times to stop buying DVDs, but some films are never going to get a Blu-ray release. Not all film stock was created equally, and perhaps more importantly, nor has it all been stored equally.
I'm a film fan above being a format fan. I value a film exponentially more than the format it is on. I'm not missing out on a wealth of quality due to something as silly as what it's pressed on. At least I've come to realise it that way. |

the only dvd's i buy anymore are typically tv seasons that aren't released on bluray.
the only dvd's i have left in my collection are tv shows and movies that either aren't on bluray yet or i just don't feel the need to own on bluray. |

Mine are seperated but ive over 1,000 dvds and i wont upgrade them all unless its a huge improvement in PQ. I rarely watch any of my dvds though except for tv show box sets but i wouldnt want to get rid of them either

I've still got over a thousand DVDs/sets. I'm slowly replacing what I can with BDs when I get the chance, and then retiring said DVDs once upgraded. Still a long way to go yet though.
I can't remember the last time I bought a DVD to be honest. If a movie, or TV series comes out on BD then I'll always opt for BD over DVD. If a TV series comes out on DVD only then chances are I've already got a hold of 720p copies anyway so just keep those. Between BDs and HDTV, DVD has largely become irrlevant to me tbh. |

I keep them separate, BD's on a Shelf, DVD's in CaseLogic Albums.
Not purchased a DVD for a few years now, the only ones I watch are UK TV/Film Comedies, Steptoe, Only Fools, CO Films etc (they have little or no chance of appearing on BD) Not watched a Film DVD for ages, still stuck with 100 or so Film DVD's, Ebay just isn't worth it for those nowadays. |

Yep. I have around 350 Blu-rays, but that's only a small portion of my film library. I still buy more DVD's than Blu-ray's too, which is solely down to availability issues. I spent almost 100 euros importing this box-set just this past weekend, and both La Belle Noiseuse Side By Side yesterday.

I've about 10ish at a guess. No more than 20 max mind (not counting the DVD's that come WITH Blu-Ray titles)
I've upgraded when/where I can, but movies like Cannibal The Musical, BASEketball and many Disney releases have yet to get a blu-ray release or are unlikely to ever get one. |

Four hundred DVD's still awaiting replacement by their BR equivalents. Wish they'd hurry up......
![]() And I don't think the BBC are going to be releasing some of their golden comedy series in BR anytime soon either ie Dads Army or The Two Ronnies or indeed for that matter Sony and their Charlies Angels (the original beauties). Plenty of French films on DVD which I am hoping will eventually be released as English language subtitled Region 2 releases like A Heart In Winter. No signs of it thus far disappointingly. |

I only buy Blu-rays now. I have over 3000 of them and there's always some titles unwatched (especially season box sets) so even if a title I REALLY want is only released on DVD I just give it a miss.
Had about 3000 DVDs too until I moved house last August which was the perfect excuse to get rid of most of them. Hung on to about 12 boxed sets in total which are particular favourites but seem unlikely to ever see the light of day on Blu: Doctor Who New Series first few seasons shot on SD, Sapphire and Steel, The Avengers (60s series), The Jewel in the Crown, Brideshead Revisited, To Serve Them All My Days, The 4400. That's the lot! |

Yeah, loads of DVDs. I love movies from 80’s/90’s and so many/too many are not on Blu...
Hand That Rocks the Cradle The Great Outdoors Weird Science Internal Affairs Class of 1999 Phantasm House (horror) Shocker Young Guns 2 etc List goes on, far to many to mention. I wouldn’t part with any of these cause they’re not on Blu. I also find films I bought just before going HD but are recently made look really good on an up scaling player and decent TV/Audio system, not as good as HD but I do not need to have Crank or Transporter upgraded, they look crisp enough for me, films I like but don’t love. |

If it's not out on Blu Ray (when in Rome big Kristen Bell fan) then I will pick it up on DVD. TV series I pick up on DVD most of the time. And If I go to the car boot sale and see a film for £ 1 or £ 2 that I have not seen then I will pick it up.
