Default The best way the BDA could spend their money!!

If the BDA wanted to make a HUGE dent in HD-DVD sales.

Why not have them send out a LOT of henchmen and purchase up all the $200 A2 models and then have a public video of all of them getting burned.

If Toshiba is indeed losing money on all of these.

It wont happen, but hey it would probably be cheaper than $150 Million.

Because then Toshiba would say: "See? We just sold all our players just like that. HD DVD is so great, we have a 63% market share of High def players...no the PS3 doesn't count because it doesn't play Blu-Ray."

5 free movies in store with every player including PS3 would accomplish this much better. Add sales to software to inflate the numbers and build momentum, and not cut off other CE's by lowering prices like Toshiba is. Plus drive sales even more instantly giving people any 5 movies they want out the door.

exactly! someone agrees with me. look how many problems there has been with bds 5 by mail in rebate. months are going by without anyone getting theres. if it was instore there would tons of happy customers telling all their friends how great blu ray isn but right now even the di hard fans are getting irritated.

They could buy them all, then return them after the sale is over when the price goes back up

Heh, that's pretty funny. I wonder if they have a one per customer on the sale to keep that sort of thing from happening or to keep someone from buying a bunch of them and then reselling them for more once the sale is over.

Just offer the PS3 in trade for any of the Toshibas. That will stop any HD DVD momentum.
