Super excited! Already one of my favorite films of 2013 (and the most underrated).

Loved this film.

A very careful and yet surreal and over-the-top adaptation of this novel.

I like how the 3D cover is a legit mark up but for the 2D they were like "Ehh, just throw up a screencap or something, I don't care, lets go get lunch."

I enjoyed this films quite a bit but apparently that's because I'm a young uneducated idiot who does not know this was supposed to be "THE" great American classic.

Ditto. (Although, it's gonna be painful to watch the first 45 minutes again)

Perhaps in terms of audiences and critics disagreeing on it being a great film, it is underrated. But I would file that as "underappreciated."

I think Stoker will go down as the most underrated movie of 2013 for me. But again that is with a different definition of "underrated" than you

On-topic, though, I totally agree. It's an amazing film. Beautiful in every sense of the word. Despite my fears that Luhrmann's anachronistic musical style would ruin it, I found it to be a non-issue in the final product. I was so immersed in the world and sympathetic with the characters that I didn't even notice the change in time periods for music haha

The only scene in the whole movie that I didn't like was a certain car race/chase. I hated the music, especially, and it was an original composition I think. Ugh.

Only true mark on the film for me, though, and it's a small one. Loved the rest of it to pieces.

Left a user review for The Great Gatsby on it's theatrical page if anyone is interested in reading it. Keep in mind, I am fairly nasty towards it due to the fact that I didn't enjoy it. So please don't bother reading it if you intend on starting an argument.

I realize a lot of people loved it, but I didn't and it makes me feel better just to write about how I feel so, for those interested, it's there. If you're not, that's fine lol

The 2D cover is! The 3D cover is a bit better, but the inclusion of the title as a seperate banner is foul. They should have done the regular poster and added "3D" somewhere.

I'll watch this sometime in the next week. If I like it enough, I'll probably get it, but there are only 5 songs in the entire soundtrack that I like and feel fit the mood of the story:

Back to Black (love the new composition)
Love Is Blindness (fits perfectly)
Crazy In Love (love the 20s vibe)
Love Is the Drug (same here)
No Church In the Wild (although contemporary, it somehow fits)

With that said I don't know how I'll like the scenes with the other songs. They can be a hit or miss, with no inbetween (no matter how beautiful the cinematography or how great the performances are).

I don't care about the movie, but I wanted to chime in on the 2D cover discussion. Am I the only one who welcomes more covers with actual screenshots, as opposed to floating heads, model poses, and Photoshop hackery?

I'll raise you one further: if a movie is great, who gives a darn what the cover looks like? :\

If you have to go the headshot route (which is understandable enough) then yeah, actual shots are usually better than hacking something together.

I welcome covers with screenshots. It's just that it doesn't look good here. And it doesn't match with the font of the title. If they really did want to use a screen shot, they should have put that gold frame around the picture, not the slip. Also, they shouldn't have put a frame around the title. it just looks messy and busy when there really isn't anything going on.

They had to ruin the cover art with the blue banners.

I hope the slipcover is metallic and embossed. It would fit perfectly.

It's WB of course it's going to have blue banners

Can't wait to own this! I like the 3D cover art better, but I'll still get the 2D as I have no use for 3D.
