I've heard that Splash is released in Australia on Blu-ray. Does anyone knows what the specs (audio, subtitles, extras) are for this release? Thanks.

According to the cover (I don't have the disc so can't confirm 100%)

1080p (1.85 OAR)
English DTS HD Master Audio 5.1

The below post from Anamnesis pretty much sums it up. It's and AVC 1080/24p transfer, and the running time is 1 hour 49 min 47 seconds. Though the French 5.1 track is Dolby Digital not Dolby Plus.

I find it very surprising that this movie has gotten no love here in the forum on Blu-ray.com

....... have you got something of value to add to this Seven year thread bump? What's your thoughts on the film? Are you happy with the Australian Blu-ray release?

There wasn't many titles that I lost in my divorce, but this was one that I did let go of... I might have to pick up another copy.

Good luck with that it's OOP even in Australia. You are going to have to hunt down a used copy.

If I don't have any luck finding a copy, I could probably pursude my ex to part ways with it.

Edit: My ex asked me for Dogma recently (it was always one of her favourites... I think I actually bought the copy I have for her), I did say no, but was lucky enough to find another copy for her, so she owes me a favour.

Now if there's any BD that needs a reissue it's that one. I've only ever owned it as an ex-rental VHS, at this rate I may as well just get a copy of the US DVD just so I can see it in widescreen for the first time

The irony that the thread bump actually ignited a conversation. And a realisation that I'd actually like this title but there is none on eBay and the ones that have sold have been $35+.

We are looking at $200+ dollars on ebay now, seriously needs a release, those prices are ridiculous.

I got the Brazilian Blu-ray for a reasonable price last year. But even that was hard to find at the time.

im surprised this hasn't gotten an anniversary release on bluray in 2014. I still have my 2004 dvd. I remember seeing a bluray on ebay. I would think Disney Moviel club would have put this out in the states

Yet another mega hit that has gotten zero love from studios.
Still no US release and even the very few foreign releases seemed to be small prints runs.
Sadly the source also seems to be an old DVD master so not great to begin with and then they used DNR on top!
So this joins the pile of beloved classic 80s hits like Footloose, The Sure Thing and that have no good blu-ray release.
I don't get it. I mean heck, like every single girl born in 1984-1986 was named Madison (and like barely, if any from the dawn of man until 1984), so the film obviously had some impact, and yet no US release and no good release anywhere. That said, the very hard to get a hold of blus that did get out there are still better than DVD.
