Default The HD war. Regional or global?

It seems that Asia and Europe already made their minds up about the HD media war, with numbers from 80:20 to 90:10 in favour of BD.
What I want to know is: Does the whole World need to win, or can one region go Blu and another Red

Any thoughts, or perhaps a link to a similar thread?

I may be wrong but i think what they are going to look for is what consumers want/prefers. like when i live in Japan, and the middle east i found the dominant format is the betamax. but in europe and US the dominant is the VHS. so i really don't know for sure, if this is what is going to happen with this format war.

Yes.It would seem strange the outcome of the war should only be decided by US salesnumbers.
