Zombie Apocalypse - What would you do!?

There are a lot of movies/series about a zombie apocalypse. We sometimes (well I know I do) yell at the actors for being extremely stupid.

What would you do in case of a (zombie) apocalypse? Would you stay in a city, would you go to a remote area, would you live on a remote island or inside a bunker?

This is what I would do:

- Acquire weapons and ammunition, gather everyone close to me, steal a few trucks, kill everyone else who's scavenging/stealing at the supermarkets/gas stations and load the trucks with food, water, gas, etc. And then head to a remote area, preferably a mountain top. Install a few snipers, cameras and hundreds of booby traps. I would also dig some kind of a bunker and try to build or steal one or more small choppers.

Hole up in a high rise building and throw a ton of furniture down the stairs to make a blockade. Go to the roof to check the surroundings anytime I need to make a supply run.

You would kill other survivors ? That would make you a bad guy! your selfish ways would inevitably mean you ended up as zombie chowder anyway.....it's zombie movie law

Why should I care for others besides those close to me in case of an apocalypse? We are talking about the end of the world here, about survival of the strongest. What do you expect me to do? Share my food with strangers because that is ''social'' and a characteristic of a ''good guy''? Who cares! Life is temporarily anyway, whether we live 100 years or 10 years, we'll all eventually die and everything will be history at some point. No, not even history. Even history will be non-existent. The entire universe will stop to exist at some point. Saying that there won't be anything is false, since ''anything'' (or ''nothing'') indicates that there is something - because if there really was nothing, no term to describe what was or isn't there would have existed in the first place.

And that feeling, the feeling of being powerless and meaningless, will only become stronger when the entire world around you perishes... When everything you ever cared for is gone.

It's those last moments that will count. It's not about surviving, survival doesn't exist if you really think about it. It's all about extending your life. Nothing more, nothing less.

It's all so sad .

If this is the way everybody's going to be, then f**k it. I'll change my answer from before and give up on finding other survivors. Ah f**k it. Since the sun will enlarge and destroy the earth in so-many billions of years anyway, I'll just kill myself now and spare myself the agony.

1. Find a big house (About size of the house on Home Alone maybe?).
2. Install Solar Panels and Geothermal energy like in the picture below:

3. Install 500 of the best generators in a underground bunker.
4. Install a reinforced electric fence 30ft tall around it 60 yards out.
5. Install a reinforced electric steel wall 80ft tall curving at the top for nothing to get over 20 yards out.
6. Install four auto-Minigun's that are non-voice activated (If you talk you live, zombies don't talk) on each corner of the wall.
7. Install a wall with thousands of spikes that will move toward the steel wall just encase "something" gets in.
8. Set up gigantic auto-catapults to throw the dead zombie bodies off in the distance so there is no build up for them to get over the fence or wall.
9. Start a farm for food and TP (I know away to make TP).
10. Get supplies, PS3 (With every game), Xbox 360 (With every exclusive title), PS4 (With every game), PS Vita (With every game) 3DS (With every game) and 20 PSP 1k's (They break easily).

12. Jamie Alexander and Scarlett Johansson (I'm sorry your fiance has been bitten *Puts him down*).
13. Use Miley Cyrus as a last ditch effort for the Zombies to eat her and not me so I'll get away if it all goes to hell (Which it won't so shut up!)

I always find threads like this a bit funny because

1) many appear to believe that in a Zombie apocalypse everything will be nice and rosy (what I mean is people building stuff when the world is going to hell or guys that talk about having guns and ammo at home -what if you are on vacation, at work and can't make it home....- or getting loved ones.....)
2) many think they know the rules (Zombies don't like the cold, Zombies can't swim....) even without the reality aspect of it, There are many different creatures in the Zombie type movies. Some are fast and others slow, some live in the cold (like dead snow) others cross bodies of water (either walking at the bottom -since Zombies are dead and don't breath - or swimming/floating- after all corpses float)
3) some appear to take a very short term look at stuff (I have a lot of canned food, I have lots of ammo, I know how to hunt...) and the only way to survive eventually) will be to become self reliant and not depend on what existed before the collapse.


Honestly I think survival will depend mostly on luck (what is the right decision in one instance might be the wrong one in the next instance) and on adaptability.
