Default Jason's best and worst kills in the Friday the 13th franchise

Quote:
A full 33 years after the groundbreaking slasher series got its start, THR revisits the best -- and the worst -- kills at the hands of the hockey-masked one who shall not be named.

This year marks the 25th anniversary of the release of the horror flick Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood and a full 33 years since the groundbreaking slasher franchise got its start. Two months ago, Warner Bros. handed half of the franchise back to Paramount as part of a deal that gave them a stake in Christopher Nolan's next project -- and a new Jason film is indeed in the works. With this week ending on a Friday the 13th, now is a good time to look back at the five best and five worst kills from the long-lived slasher series.

STORY: Warner Bros. Gives Up 'Friday the 13th' Rights to Board Christopher Nolan's 'Interstellar'

The Best

1. Andy is sliced in two with a machete while walking on his hands in Friday the 13th Part III (1982).

2. Rick’s head is crushed in Jason’s hands until his eye pops out at the screen in Friday the 13th Part III.

3. Russell’s face is cut in half with an axe in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988).

4. Jack (a young Kevin Bacon) is stabbed in the throat with an arrow from under the bed in Friday the 13th (1980).

5. Jason’s mother is beheaded with a machete in Friday the 13th.

And ... the Worst

1. Julius is decapitated by having his head punched completely off his body in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan (1989).

2. Jason himself is “killed” by being stabbed in the heart and then actually dragged down into Hell in Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday (1993).

3. Burt is thrown against a tree, crushing his head and stabbing him with a branch as his blood colors a smiley-face on the tree, in Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives (1986).

4. Judy is beaten to death inside a sleeping bag as it’s smashed against a tree in Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (1988).

5. J.J. his beaten to death with an electric guitar in Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan.

Thanks for posting this. The list is just okay. I'm really surprised the liquid nitrogen kill from Jason X didn't make it into his best kills.

I think it was part VI where the cutting away from the actual kill and just showing the aftermath started....so anything from there is kind of disappointing....check out the first four films for the good stuff. Its all entertaining but just on a weaker level until the newline reboot.

One of the worst for me is the asian girl getting choked out by Jason on the dance floor in part VIII.....a simple choke out by the teleporting, immortal Jason?? Lame

I dont agree with that to much. Who made that list? Anyway I think they made a mistake also. I think the kill with the guy walking on his hands was in part 2 not 3 if Im not mistaken. Also The sleeping bag kill is Jason's best kill ever in my book and should be nowhere near a worst kills list. Also his 2nd best kill to me is when he breaks the sheriff in half backwards in part 6. Also one of the most popular kills where the guy gets the machete to the head while in the wheelchair in part 2 isnt even listed. Thats a weak list man. Got Em!!

My favorite kill of the franchise isnt up there and its suprising because its by far the goriest, the tent scene in Jason Goes to Hell where he slices down through the girls shoulder like half way through her body with that metal stake and then forcefully rips it back up and shes pretty much torn in half. As for a "worst" Id say one that always sticks out as stupid is when that blubbering idiot "they done hurt me maaaaaaaaaaa" is crying on his motorcycle and riding around like a lunatic in circles in a new beginning and jason chops his head off, it could of been cool but it just looked so stupid the way his head just pops off and rolls away.
