Default I have the solution to end this format war...

OK. I know the answer to this format war. One word:

Oprah

All the BD camp needs to do is have Oprah add it to her "must buy" list (or whatever it is she sells) or give a PS3 to each member of her studio audience (with a mention that it is for playing Blu-Rays) and the war would be over. All you need is Oprah's endorsment and chicks will be wet with anticipation over their PS3 purchase. She could even have an actor in the studio who's just about to have a movie release on Blu-Ray just yucking it up over Blu-ray.

I'm telling you, Oprah is the key...

Thoughts?

I know I have very little post count around here and, normally, I don't post these kind of silly threads, but I was just in a weird mood and thought I'd have a little fun this morning. That's all.

Obviously, Oprah is not going to win this war for us.

No, he's right

Oprah's thumbs-up is probably good for at least 100,000 decks

Anything OPRAH recommends millions of people buy....Dunno why but it happens.
Virtually every book she has recommends on her book club becomes a NYTimes best seller.
That would no doubt get allot of women on board too.

Someone get the woman a Blu-ray player!

I think I am the only female that goes against everything she says out of spite. Damn I find her annoying. But your right she does have many sheep that hang on to her every word.

Absolutely right - Oprah's thumbs up would be a massive bump.
Sounds hilarious, but it's absolutely true.

Yup, I can see now all the stay-at-home moms running to the local Wally World and buying up a PS3...actually, it might be more than 100,000 if you think globally.

Better if some insider/BDA can get to her before Toshiba/Microsoft do!

Any insiders have the right connections. Her big give-away shows are the highest rated shows she puts out, and Millions of people see what they get and then want it for the Christmas season. When iPod's were just new, she gave them out, and iPod sales that Christmas went through the roof. I'm sure her show helped those numbers.

Who has connections to get on Oprah's Give-away show list?

it's true, does anyone remember several years back when op had the ipod on her show and game them to everyone? How about Tivo? I seriously think it would work! But honestly, using the PS3 might be bad cause no one counts that as a "real" blu-ray player except blu-ray supporters. All the media and eveything are always like "but stand-alones have only sold blah blah blah and that's what counts cuz no one uses a PS3 for BD.... Whatever the media does not know snakes from dildos. OPRAH AND BLU-RAY FTW

Oprah's amazing...I totally hate her, but she's amazing. She's smart, and every time she adds a book to her book club, the author can become and instant millionaire, assuming they get a cut of each book, and didn't just sttle for a publication deal. And yes, if she endorsed blu-ray on her show, it would work. And it's "A" brain augmentation, not "An"

Whenever Oprah mentions our company - we get slammed. Not just clicks, but sales too.

We send out alerts to be ready for Oprah Day.

that would be "an" instead of "and" - and "settle" instead of "sttle"

Oh and yes - Oprah is a very good idea. I don't think I have ever watched a show of hers. I catch bits and pieces every so often, but yeah - whenever she mentions something - people buy it.
