Hello,
What does it mean when there is a * in front of an audio track or a subtitle description in a BDInfo scan report? See an example below: AUDIO: Codec Language Bitrate Description ----- -------- ------- ----------- DTS-HD Master Audio English 4393 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 4393 kbps / 24-bit (DTS Core: 5.1 / 48 kHz / 1509 kbps / 24-bit) Dolby Digital Audio German 640 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 640 kbps / DN -4dB Dolby Digital Audio Spanish 640 kbps 5.1 / 48 kHz / 640 kbps / DN -4dB Dolby Digital Audio Spanish 192 kbps 2.0 / 48 kHz / 192 kbps / DN -4dB / Dolby Surround * Dolby Digital Audio Japanese 192 kbps 2.0 / 48 kHz / 192 kbps / DN -4dB / Dolby Surround SUBTITLES: Codec Language Bitrate Description ----- -------- ------- ----------- * Presentation Graphics Japanese 19,529 kbps Presentation Graphics English 28,956 kbps Presentation Graphics German 30,793 kbps Presentation Graphics Spanish 26,443 kbps Presentation Graphics Dutch 25,397 kbps Presentation Graphics Spanish 27,048 kbps Presentation Graphics Bulgarian 26,331 kbps * Presentation Graphics Japanese 0,123 kbps Does anybody know? Sometimes if there is a language selection before you get to the main menu, that can also 'activate' these hidden tracks.
Out of curiosity, does that disc prompt you with a language selection? It can also indicate PiP tracks. Last edited by Tech-UK; 11-09-2013 at 11:37 AM. |

UPDATE: I checked it, the disc doesn't promt you with a language selection. You go directly to the main menu, and you cannot choose that hidden Japanese audio track/subtitle, neither from the main menu, nor from the right-click context menu/via the appropriate button of PowerDVD during playing. They managed to hide this Japanese track really well. ![]() Last edited by casspir; 11-09-2013 at 02:42 PM. |
