Default Hulu's "The Mindy Project" (Season 4)

Maybe I missed it but I couldn't find a thread for this show. Finally got around to finishing Season 1. It took me a while because it was so hit and miss. One episode would be good and another would be a chore to get through. It definitely got better towards the end though.

Tonight I've watched the first five episodes of Season 2 and it's highly enjoyable. I'm loving Ben Feldman's snobby critic character. He's such a cutie and his gesture of singing Katy Perry to Mindy was really sweet. I would love for this relationship to last a while but sadly I doubt this will happen.

This season has definitely increased in quality though. I'd almost recommend people not even bother watching the first season and just diving right in to Season 2.

Adam Pally really is pretty much playing a heterosexual version of Max from Happy Endings. Great to have him still on TV even if it's not in Happy Endings . Though FOX scooping up him for The Mindy Project and Damon Wayans, Jr. for New Girl has me wishing they would have just picked up Happy Endings.

I gave up on the show about halfway through season 1. The episodes were becoming hard for me to sit through. And I still didn't care for a single character. Just not for me I guess.

The show has improved in it's second season... but I think the supporting characters are really weak at time and the fact that it's so focused on Mindy's romantic life because apparently she can stay single and date white guys.... I find Mindy Kaling likable but not leading material not because she's Indian, because she is a weak actress.

The best character by far is Chris Messina's Danny...

I'm all caught up now. This show has gotten great. It had like a Parks & Recreation turn-around where Season 1 was decent and then Season 2 was in a whole other league.

I take it this week's episode was the winter finale? Kind of bummed to have to wait for more.

The dance Danny did in the last episode was awesome.

For those who gave up in Season 1 I'd recommend giving Season 2 a shot.

I love the show. I think Mindy is extremely likeable as a character and an actress.

I canceled my Hulu subscription when the first half of the season ended. I haven't decided yet whether I'll restart it tomorrow or wait a couple weeks and binge on the first 3 or 4 episodes.

Glad the show is back. I do wish
[Show spoiler]they spent a few episodes diving into Danny and Mindy breaking up instead of a cute little montage, but I liked the first episode back regardless

I don't like the sharp turn they wrote for Danny's character, made me wonder if maybe Chris Messina just wanted off the show because it's on Hulu now for money or something else.

They are still getting good deals, being on Hulu didn't change much of anything, if anything at all. I just caught the episode, but it was just average for me. A few good moments, but I just hated the break. Sooooo long

Chris Messina has left the show as a regular. Kaling said for fans not to worry, he will stil be around.. but not really. If she means anything how s4 was, then it will be a mess.

In the first 22 episodes of the season so far..

He was completely missing from 6 episodes and only had voice credits for another 4. Plus, many episodes he did appear in were very short appearances.

I like Chris but I started to really dislike Danny in s4 so I'm torn about it... him being recurring won't be any different than how he has been in the last half of s4 when he was still starring.

This show has always been quite a mess though. I think they're handling Danny's reduced role reasonably well. At least he hasn't inexplicably disappeared like some other characters. (They weren't major characters, but still.)

Still, overall, I still find the show pretty enjoyable and more watchable than most sitcoms.

I'm a couple episodes behind but the last episode I saw had about 30 seconds with Danny. He really doesn't serve much of a purpose anymore as a cast regular if he's not working in the office and they aren't going to have Mindy and Danny get back together, so it doesn't seem like not having him as a regular will be a big loss.

The loss is because I liked having him on the show. I don't like the new direction of the show, and it has gone to pretty painfully unfunny. A lot of cringe worthy moments. I was absolutely in love with the show in earlier years, this season not so much.

I think it was Ok. Had some good and some bad moments this season but it was better than some of the older ones. My guess is the change in main cast made the writers have to go back to the drawing board and made this season a transitions season to what Monday was on the first season. I expect next season to be just as funny as the first season. The last season w Danny was bad, they made you care for the relationship only to show how unchanged his character was from the start. I don't like the way the character was portrayed as well. Once they married and the show was renewed it all went down in terms of quality so for me this Hulu season was better than that and I want more of the same next season. Mindy getting through life making mistakes left and right.
