I can't say anything about the transfer on the existing blu-ray since I haven't checked it out at all due to the missing bonus features. New transfer or not, it needs a feature packed re-release. It's always annoying when a BD doesn't carry over all the extras from DVD's, but especially so for a Kevin Smith title. |

There's only one way to do that at the present time. Buy the U.K. release, which has better PQ. Keep in mind that it is region B locked, but it has the commentary just like the U.S. disc. For the extras just get the 2002 DVD put it and the BD in a single case and call it a day. I have done this with Predator, Master and Commander, and a few others.

Miramax owns the property and elements. Lionsgate owns the distribution rights. Unless Miramax has a specific reason to repromote this, they won't do anything and even then Lionsgate has to agree with it. Same the other way around. |

You never thought of email, phone call, or a good old fashioned letter? Seriously though, Lionsgate needs a viable, i.e. MONEY, reason to revisit this. Considering that Zach and Miri still relegated Smith films to the indie/fan only genre, Cop Out didn't perform to expectations, and Red State was not heavily promoted... Lionsgate sees nothing at this time to justify the cost of remastering, let alone paying for a new encoding, of the film. Not even Universal's announcement for Mallrats is pushing them to repromote this. Maybe when Clerks III sees the light of day, maybe it will given a new release, maybe. I don't want to say it will never happen or dash your dreams but Lionsgate only really repromotes titles when it is to their advantage. Even if Miramax was willing to do a bang up edition, its going to take awhile. I mean Chicago got a repromotion as did Good Will Hunting but both of these were silent tie-in promotions. Good Will Hunting anniversary release tied to Promised Land's theatrical release: both starring Matt Damon and both directed by Gus Van Sant Chicago special edition release tied to Into The Woods coming at the end of the year: both directed by Rob Marshall Now 2016 would be the 15th anniversary for Jay & Silent Bob: Strike Back and 2021 would be the 20th anniversary. So there is the slight possibility but then again, Miramax and/or Lionsgate could be waiting for the unicorn Clerks III to do a proper promotion. |

Not that I know of. There's a re-release, apparently:
https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread.php?t=168484 That thread lists a bunch of extras, but everyone in the thread says it's just the same disc re-released. |
