Default The Blu-ray Community Top 20 Comic Book Movies of All Time - READ THE OP!

It's the most popular movie genre on these forums so let's find out which comic book adaptations the good people of Blu-ray.com think are the very best.

NOTE: Films based on manga and comic strips are allowed.

THE RULES

* Similar to other polls conducted recently, simply list your top 20 films in descending order from your favorite. The higher up on the list the film is, the more points it'll get:

1. 20 points
2. 19 points
3. 18 points
etc.

* If you can't list 20 films, then all of the films on your list will receive 1 point each.

* You may list movies that were based on comic books/graphic novels; this isn't just for superhero movies. If you're unsure if a film is eligible, just ask and we'll help you figure it out.

* Only make 1 list! Do not make multiple posts each time you update your already existing list. Just edit your original post.

* SUPER SPECIAL BONUS OPTION

If you are sick and tired of this genre, you may still participate with one of two choices:

1) Simply make a post with the following sentence: I hate this genre. Your vote will receive 20 points.

2) You can put the I hate this genre option at the very top of your list and it will receive 20 points. You can then fill out the rest of your list with movies and they will be awarded 19, 18, 17, etc. points just like any other list (or 1 point each if your list doesn't have 20 entries).

Do not put I hate this genre in any position other than #1.

Reserved, I don't hate the genre, but I'm fed up with the people around it.

Yeah. This would probably be best after the summer when we are seeing Cap 2, Spidey 2, DOFP, Ninja Turtles, Guardians of the Galaxy and even Sin City's sequel.

I'm cool with it now because people have a tendency to rank a movie higher than they normal would due to movie being in the honeymoon phase. It honestly won't surprise me if Dark Knight Rises and Avengers rank lower here than they did two years ago.

Surprised to see the lack of superhero titles like Road to perdition, Creepshow, Tales from the Crypt, ect.

Also, am I the first to include DC's direct to video animated titles? Dark Knight Returns, Under the Red Hood, Year One, Flashpoint Paradox, All-Star Superman, First Flight, ect. were all fantastic and better than a lot of the live action films.

Good choices, I forgot those. I did a smidgen of research into "Top x movies you didn't know were comic books first" in order to make my list better, but I guess not enough research. Maybe I'll find a place, maybe not. As for Road to Perdition (a good Hanks film ), I expected it to make it, but it had to be cut. Maybe I don't "hate this genre" as much as I thought

My bad. Still surprised that only one other has included any of them. The Dark Knight Returns was easily better than most of the movies mentioned so far in my opinion.

No they wouldn't as Chasing Amy, nor Unbreakable were based on comics. Neither would Darkman, Super, or Defendor in case anyone else is curious.

I'm actually wrong about Creepshow, it wasn't based on comic stories like I thought. Tales from the Crypt and Vault of Terror were though.

Here's a pretty accurate list of films based on comics.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of...anguage_comics

I forgot about titles such as Heavy Metal, Weird Science, and My Name Is Bruce.
