DVDSpot is a great site that, if you don't already know about it, you should check out.
It lets you keep track of your DVD/BD/HD-DVD collection and even gives you a value of your collection.
I have put all my BDs in there, and only started on my DVDs.
If you look at the numbers on the home page, it gives you the percentage of how many people own BD vs HD-DVD.
I think everyone should sign up for this and post your BD collection. Right now it is at 61% BD, but lets see if we can make that higher

It's looks great, Cpt, but my SD collection is so huge that I just can't imagine taking that much time to input it into any Web site. It's been tough enough keeping a running list in MS Word.

I know what you mean, but your BD collection can't be that big.
At least add those if nothing else. My account is still missing probably about 90% of the DVDs I own. But I am impressed with the selection, it has most (if not all) of the obscure DVDs as well as popular ones. (Granted it doesn't have my imports from Germany or Japan, or China.... but who cares about those...)

OK, I've input my Blu collection (well, most of the current titles that I could remember, anyway). Whew, there are suckers there with collections over 6900 titles! It'll be easier now to update that as I go along. Thanks for the headsup, Cpt!

this site is rather good. and for the whole having to take the time to put your sd collection in... if you work a boring part time job (like i do) that doesnt require alot of concentration just do it a bit at a time... trust me it kills crazy time

not to mention its cool to see how much your bds and sds are worth...
just dont tell the gf lol.. i told he mine were worth close to 2G on only 50 and she flipped

Being an insurance agent, I can tell you a site like that is good for tracking your collection for claims purposes if you ever have a loss.

When insuring a home or even for renters needing renters insurance, one must take into account their A/V collections as they are very expensive to replace if a loss occurs. So many people overlook this valuations when dealing with me that I am forced to make them think about their A/V collections.

To file a valid claim you will need to provide the underwriter proof that you actually owned the items you claimed were lost. You can solve that by taking a photo/video of your entire collection and keeping it safe off site and the recommended web site is your inventory list.

Wherever you put it, it simply amounts to a good inventory list.

A good inventory list (or video of your home contents) is something everyone who buys homeowner insurance should take time to create.

You have to go down the list sometimes to find the Blu-ray version of the movie by looking for the Blu-ray bar across the top of the image. Night At The Museum's Blu is at the top if you want to look for something as a guide.

My BDs and a few DVDs are already worth over 2k, and I still have a huge number to put in for DVDs.

I have never thought of logging for that purpose. Thanks for the insight!
