Australia Any Quickflix or Moviebase members?

Is anyone here a member of Quickflix or Moviebase?

I've been considering getting a Quickflix membership to rent Blu-rays and DVDs that are unavailable at my local video libraries. I like the idea that I can rent discs for as long as I want (even whole TV seasons) as long as I pay a monthly subscription fee. But I've heard people say that it can take a long time for discs to arrive. Does anyone know if that's still true?

I only found out about Moviebase an hour ago. Unlike Quickflix, Moviebase only has Blu-rays in its catalogue, but it has a much larger selection of Blu-rays. It's got movies that I had no idea even existed on Blu-ray in Australia. Does anyone know what their service is like?

I am just cancelling my quickflix. They are usually very good but recently I have had one to many instances where a blu-ray has taken over a month to arrive or simply not arrived. In the past I found them to be very good but recently they have gotten very lax (hence why I am cancelling my subscription). There price is also far to high and there instant streaming selection is simply terrible. Honestly I fell I am better of waiting for discs to go on sale and simply import them whilst simply streaming or buying the rare film I want to see immediately. This is often also quicker (streaming obviously is, but it shouldn't be quicker to wait for a massive price drop on a blu-ray then it is to rent it).

Quickflix was once recommendable but no longer is as it is far to expensive and far to slow. I may have a free code for I believe around 4 weeks or so if you would like one.

Hoyts have a service I am looking into, especially as I have to walk buy one of the green kiosks several times a week. Though I know this isn't convenient or possible for all (they may also have a mail out system, but I am unsure of this last point).

Is that delivery time from when they send it or when you put it in your queue?

It usually takes a couple of days for me. But I have some titles that have been in my queue for a couple of years.

Were these discs that took more than a month to arrive listed as HighDemand or LongWait? During this time, did they send you any other discs that were in your queue or were you stuck with nothing? How many movies were you able to get in a month?

Quickflix's prices don't seem too bad as long as I'm able to get at least 12 movies a month. I'm not really interested in streaming, since my internet connection isn't very reliable.

Just some titles that were in high demand to start off with, but kept getting bumped down my queue.

I'm on the cheapest plan and I can get 8 movies a month as long as I keep my queue healthy.

If you keep the movies that you really want at the top of you queue, you should be OK.

I'm referring to discs they have told me have been sent out, not simply added to my queue.

I also much prefer no steaming due to the quality difference but alas I also like being able to watch when I want and not have to wait potentially months for a film I would like to view.

I got subscriptions for both. With moviebase you will get the new titles really fast from queue comparatively. But service is excellent in both cases. Normally I receive a day after like in 2nd day after their dispatch notification. I'm not sure how much part the location plays in this.
