Default Tomorrow (1972) starring Robert Duvall

Quote:
B2MP, Inc. to release Blu-ray/DVD combo of TOMORROW with Robert Duvall

B2MP, Inc. is excited to announce its upcoming release of a Blu-ray/DVD combo pack of Tomorrow starring Robert Duvall. This title will be sold exclusively on the B2MP website, http://b2mp.net and will not be available at retail outlets. This marks the first release of the film on Blu-ray and the return to DVD of the film after a several year absence.

Often cited as one of his favorite performances, Robert Duvall stars as Jackson Fentry, a solitary man and sawmill caretaker, who meets and eventually falls in love with an abandoned pregnant woman.

Academy Award ™ winner Horton Foote (“To Kill a Mockingbird”, “Tender Mercies”) wrote the screenplay based on his stage adaptation of a short story by William Faulkner. Directed by Joseph Anthony (“The Matchmaker”, “The Rainmaker”), and shot in beautiful black and white to convey the era in which it takes place, the film is a haunting, emotional tale about a man’s capacity for love.

From the collection of The Museum of Modern Art, and newly transferred to high definition, the film will be presented in 16X9 1080p on the Blu-ray with 24 bit 48 kHz LPCM 2.0 mono audio. The DVD will feature DTS 2.0 mono audio. Retail price is $29.98 and the discs will ship in late April.

Coming over the next few months will be a Native American silent film Blu-ray set, which will include The Last of the Mohicans and The Silent Enemy in high definition and The Vanishing American in standard definition, and a Blu-ray/DVD combo of Around the World With Orson Welles: The Complete Series, including the previously lost episode, Revisiting Vienna, aka The Third Man Returns To Vienna.

Just placed my order for Tomorrow and The Puppetoon Movie. I had no idea these were out on Blu-ray.

Tomorrow, Tender Mercies, and The Great Santini are my three favorite Duvall performances, all really good films, so I am happy the first one is being released on high-def (still waiting on Bruce Beresford's Tender Mercies and Lewis Carlino's The Great Santini, hopefully both will be upgraded soon). Also, I was not aware of B2MP until reading this, so thanks for bumping this thread.

Thanks for the heads up OP!

It's a very hefty price to pay, but I already bought The Puppetoon Movie. Being that it's a limited edition, I couldn't let the opportunity pass by. I had never heard of B2MP before that purchase. It looks like they have some very good/worthwhile titles in their catalog.

I never heard of Tomorrow, but it sure looks like my kind of movie. Plus I think Robert Duvall is awesome! (Love Tender Mercies too ... and have been anxiously waiting for the bluray to come out).

EDIT: Looked at a few reviews ... Ordered!

Exclamation Milk the goat every two hours?!

Ok here is the thing that really annoyed me about this movie, and since it doesn't seem to bother anyone else, and i have to tell someone how much it bothers me, you're it.

Midwife sells him a goat and says, "Ya have'ta milk every two hours."

This line in the movie bothered the crap out of me. There are no goats that have to be milked every two hours. i have lived with goats. i have milked goats. Some of my best friends are old goats. My reaction was, What?

If a goat had to be milked every two hours, nobody would own such a goat. The goats could not reproduce because the kids could not keep suckling every two hours.

So i checked the short story in Knight's Gambit that Faulkner*wrote using Google Books and indeed, it said that in the original story.

Wasn't there anybody on the movie set who was raised on a farm said, What? Wait.. that ain't right..

So that’s what I’ve been doing wrong all this time. Last time I take goat milking advice from a Robert Duvall movie.
