Generation War (German TV) on Blu-Ray May 6, 2014 - Blu-ray Forum

Anyone heard much about this? I'm a sucker for WWII on Blu-Ray and have studied that period and the war in great detail, so naturally, I looked this up and it seems to be quite interesting, so I pre-ordered it at Amazon. Reviews seem good also.

Review is up. I've got it coming today, hope to start watching it soon. This is the only review I have read that isn't positive, so I still have high hopes for the series.

I got a copy as well. I've watched the first episode....each apparently running around 95 minutes or so. PQ is extraordinary. It may have been shot digitally, but I wouldn't swear to it. Early in the first episode, as in the review's screenshots, there's a close-up of one of the character's face, and even I said, "Wow." The Blu-ray features the "Press Play to Resume" feature, when you press Stop, so you don't have to load up the whole disc upon restart.

Thank you guys for all the info. I have a question about the discs, I have this arriving from Netflix, and it says only 1 BD. Is this spread out over 2 BDs? It doesn't look like there are lot of extras, so I fear I might not have a 2nd disc, as Netflix does not list one on their site.
The running time says a little over 3hrs, but the site here has 279mins, so it sounds like I'm missing ~100mins.

Edit: Just got off the phone w/Netflix and they somehow "ran out" of the 2nd disc, and are waiting for more copies to arrive from the distributor.
Translation: They won't ever receive any more discs.

Oddly enough my mail was just delivered and the disc says Parts I & II. Is that everything, or is there are Part III(and more) on the 2nd disc?

Hi Rickah,

My wife and I watched this recently and rather enjoyed it. It comes on 2 BD Discs and is 3 Parts IIRC
