You have to manually switch them on when they speak Japanese. Understandable as being a Japanese release they assume the viewer can understand the language.

You can, just don't turn them on. You can on my version anyway.

I just switch mine on when they speak Japanese and then turn them off again.

Thing is my one (maybe the same? if i recall the reason i bought it was cause when the bride blinks it dosent go black and white) either the menus are in Japanese or if they're English then if I chose audio the options are in Japanese. Not watched it since I bought it when it came out.....what's that? 8yrs ago? Lol maybe I should look again.
