A different option for Sony - Blu-ray Forum

On gamefaqs.com, there is the following poll:

When do you plan to buy a playstation 3?

1) On launch day, I've already put in a preorder
2) On launch day, I'll put in a pre-order as soon as I can
3) On launch day, I'll stand in line
4) I'll wait a few months until things die down
5) I'll wait until there's a price drop
6) I doubt I'll ever buy one

Most votes went for number five. I still don't think that the ps3 is over priced considering two main things, 1) You can play a wide variety of content and 2) You get a freebie blu-ray player that you would otherwise pay $1,000 for. Keep in mind that the ps3 is the most powerful console that there is. You have a CPU chip and RSX chip plus a blu-ray disc drive. Technology like that doesn't come at a cheap price.

I'd pick option # 5 as well.

I won't have the PS3 by this year or even the next because my CRT TV is not enough for full HD experience.

2008 because Sony's current BRAVIA (X series) is still slow @ 8 ms. Sony's SXRD has 2.5 ms of fast response time and has 1080p as standard but it's very heavy and bulky (because it's projection-based).

S-LCD will be making 8G subtrates and release TVs for fall 2007.

I'm looking for an LCD TV or OLED TV with response time of at least 4 ms or lower and has 1080p standard with HDMI 1.3 or 1.4 or whatever.

Xbox 360 sucks anyhow so that's why it's on the last of my wishlist.
