Default iTunes AMEX offer: $5 credit (Expires 5/31/14)

I don't know if this has already been posted but:

For those who have an AMEX card, it looks like there is currently an iTunes offer through AMEX where if you spend $5 or more on iTunes using your enrolled AMEX card by 5/31/14, you get a one-time $5 statement credit.

So, basically $5 for free as long as you spend $5 or more.

I just bought a $10 iTunes GC (the lowest denomination possible, there was no $5 GC) so that I could get the promo but choose when I want to spend it and it already shows on my online account that I have a $5 credit coming.

AMEX had a bunch of offers like this over the holidays (the most notable one which I believe got attention over on the deals forum was a $25 credit for a purchase of $75 or more on AMZ, which a lot of people used to buy $75 GCs, myself included). I thought it was just a seasonal thing, but I guess they are continuing to run these types of promos throughout the year as well.

Fortunately, my wife and I both have AMEX cards, so we can essentially get every deal twice, so we essentially got $10 iTunes credit for free.

Here are the terms:

OFFER DETAILS
Spend a total of $5 or more on iTunes using your enrolled American Express Card by 5/31/14 and get a one-time $5 statement credit.

Here is the fine print:
[Show spoiler]TERMS
Offer valid only for iTunes purchases; not valid for any other purchases of Apple products in-store or online. Offer valid only for purchases made with your enrolled Card. Please make sure that your enrolled Card is the payment method set for your iTunes account in order to redeem the offer. Enrollment is limited. Offer is non-transferable. Limit 1 statement credit per American Express online account. If you order an item during the offer period but it is not provided until after 5/31/14, it may not count towards determining whether your purchase qualifies for the offer. Statement credit will appear on your billing statement within 90 days after 5/31/14, provided that American Express receives information from Apple about your qualifying purchase. Note that American Express may not receive information about your qualifying purchase from Apple until all of the items from your qualifying purchase have been provided by Apple. Statement credit may be reversed if qualifying purchase is returned/cancelled. If American Express does not receive information that identifies your transaction as qualifying for the offer, you will not receive the stmt credit. For example, your transaction will not qualify if it is not made directly with Apple. In addition, in most cases, you will not receive the stmt credit if your transaction is made with an electronic wallet or through a 3rd party or if the merchant uses a mobile or wireless card reader to process it.

I'm not sure, but I'm thinking that once the expiration date hits they will extend this. I remember seeing this deal last month in our accounts with a 4/30/14 deadline but didn't get around to redeeming it and was bummed that I missed it, but then noticed that it was still there this month with a new 5/31/14 deadline. So, I'm wondering if they just continue to extend these deals. I'm not sure about that, so if you are interested in this I would get it before 5/31/14 just in case.

How to enroll in the offers:
[Show spoiler]For you to get this deal, you have to log into your AMEX account online and then save the particular offer to your account. To do this, you should have some tabs near the bottom of your account home page: Latest Transactions, Explore Your Benefits, and Amex Offers For You.

Go to the last one, "Amex Offers For You".

In that tab you should have 3 buttons: Offers Available for Card -XXXXX, My Offers, and My Savings. Under "Offers Available for Card -XXXXX" it should list all the available offers. If you have the iTunes offer, it'll be listed there. If it's not there, then you might not have the offer (not everyone may get all the offers), but make sure you have revealed all the offers to make sure you haven't missed it (there's a link "See more offers" at the bottom).

If you see the offer, you need to click the "Save Offer" button on the right. I believe that enrolls your card in the offer. You will not be able to participate in the promo unless you enroll your card in the offer (you are not automatically eligible just by using your card).

You must enroll your card first in each of the specific promos you are interested in before using it.

Looks like this offer (or one very similar) may be live again but for even more credit - just found a $10.00 offer for iTunes on one card and a $5.00 offer for Google Play on another.
