I hope it has an extended cut and since it was shot in 3D it would be in 3d, unlike The Wolverine.

Avatar was shot in 3D and the extended cut of that never saw a 3D BD release, so I wouldn't count on it. Has there ever been an extended cut which got a 3D Blu-ray release ?

Only one in recent memory. The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey 3D Extended Edition (Nov 5, 2013 release) and soon - The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug 3D Extended Addition.
Thank you Peter Jackson!

Just got back from seeing this and I was really surprised to learn that it was actually shot in 3D. I assumed that it was the typical conversion that was done only as an afterthought because there wasn't a single shot that I remember standing out.

I liked seeing a young Xavier disheveled with long hair and beard...he just looked cool that way. He along with Fassbender and Jackman just oozed coolness throughout the movie. And whatever may be said for the 3D, it did add to the experience and was shot well

[Show spoiler]Sad to hear that the final scene was meant to serve as a sort of farewell to (most) of the original cast, but the young leads should no doubt be excellent starring in the Apocalypse movie

Default X-Men best overall 3D movie of the year

The storyline was great, the casting was perfect old professor and magneto look like their younger versions.

The 3d was very good througout with some amazing great 3d scenes.
The quick silver scenes were insane.
Magneto and stadium lift ans those last scenes were insane.
The futuristic X-men were great despite getting destroyed by the sentinels.

The time line between future an past made sense, great movie, acting.

Some say their was not alot of action thats a total lie.
Future x-men fought sentinels at the begging
Then the quick silver prision break scene
Then mystic army base scene.
Then the scene wolverine, charles and eric go after mystic in public scene.
The future scene x-men scene where storm gets impelled by a sentinel
The magneto stadium around the white house scene

How much action can you have ?

You do realize that Patrick Stewart and Ian McKellen have been playing Xavier and Magneto since 2000 right?

I don't think so. I think both TMNT and Guardian of the Galaxy were better 3D wise but I'd probably give the nod to Edge of Tomorrow for overall 3D movie.

I'm not counting T.S. Spivet because I haven't seen it, but it is on the way.

Agreed. This one is very good for filmed 3D, but for stronger 3D, TMNT, GOTG, EOT and LOHercules are up there for strongest theatrical 3D films of 2014 from what I've seen so far.

On topic, they did a nice job filming the 3D in Days of Future Past in most shots, but if they really want to sell the 3D, amp it up to the level of Avatar or Flying Swords of Dragon Gate, etc.

No no no, he's saying that the younger versions match up well to their older counterparts. I think.

I thought this was the best xmen movie yet. As far as being the best overall 3D movie of the year....it's up there with Transformers: AOE so far. Haven't seen GOTG yet.

This is currently the most bargain priced 3D at Best Buy for $14. Though reviews are mixed, sounds like it might be worth a gamble.
