Default HBO Finally Supporting Other UV Providers

I haven't seen anyone post anything up on here yet, but my HBO UV titles are starting to migrate into CinemaNow and Target Ticket. Still no UV support on Vudu, but if you prefer to (or need to) use "lesser" services, HBO TV shows and recent movies w/ UV copies are transferring. This includes GoT, BWE, The Newsroom, Game Change and Clear History, amongst the others that are UV.

Nice to have one more option (although I have yet to watch any of my Flixster only titles, hardly any of my UV library to be honest).

I'm seeing Revolution, Boardwalk Empire, House of Cards & The Newsroom so far (some are definitely juust bits and pieces though and not full seasons).

Actually, I just redeemed both Game Change and Too Big to Fail through the Vudu website at https://my.vudu.com/redeem.html

Just entered in both codes after searching for the names of the movies and they redeemed via HDX...

then used those same codes right in iTunes via the redeem button and got those in HD!!

That's different than what's being discussed here. What you're talking about - redeeming the same code in multiple places (Vudu, iTunes, UV via Flixster) - is something that's been allowed with HBO digital copies since they first started offering them.

What this thread is talking about is that the UV portion of the code - which is separate from the Vudu portion - is now starting to become available outside of Flixster. Previously, if you redeemed the code through Flixster, you could only access the title through Flixster. Now they're starting to show up in other UV-linked services except for Vudu.

I only have Game of Thrones and so far only Season 3 has transferred to Cinemanow and TargetTicket.

Cinemanow lists it 10 times with each listing opening the season.

Well I guess I need to read a bit better, though, just goes to show how utterly confusing all these different platforms have gotten as of late...

I think it speaks more to the absurdity of the landscape than a lack of fine print reading....

Now that HBO has signed a big streaming contract with Amazon Prime, it wouldn't surprise me to see select releases begin to support UV status.

Now if only they could remove HBO GO from cable paywall. Too bad it'll never happen.

Default Does the order of redemptions matter?

Super useful thread for a beginner like me.

Like a lot of people I'm interested in redeeming my Game of Thrones Blu-Ray codes. I've searched and read through some other threads but still have two questions:

1) If my goal is to make my media available via as many services as possible, does the order of redemption matter? Assuming I skip the HBO Select site as other threads suggest, would the best order be: Vudu (rolls out to all UV sites), then iTunes, then ____ (any other sites to remember, eg Amazon?)

2) I haven't been able to find any threads on video and audio quality differences between the various streaming middlemen services. Assuming a great internet connection are they all pretty much equivalent?

TIA

Just so I'm clear here with the new HBO redemption rules, I have a sopranos code and I have redeemed the itunes copy straight from iTunes, I redeemed again directly through flixster, which showed up in VUdu no problem; my question is does this code have any more value to it? Can it be redeemed anywhere else? In the past I could redeem through vudu as well but that was a vudu only copy.

No to Vudu as they now support UV so it is either Vudu or Flixster. But you should still have a Google Play redemption that can be redeemed directly through http://www.hbodigital.com

It's not HBO, but Copper Season One finally has UV support on VUDU now. It's not importing for me; I've got a ticket in to Flixster to fix it.

Anyone else having problems playing ssn 1&2 of game of thrones on Vudu? They work on flixster, but not Vudu. What's weird is that my 3-5 work fine on Vudu.

Edit. Bumping the above to see if anyone knows Bumping if UV is having issues w GOT season rights for 1/2.

No issues here. I just watched an episode from season 1 in two separate accounts on two different devices. Consider getting in touch with VUDU.

Thanks. I have and called as well. Said they need to acquire UV rights to it. Which is weird since they clearly have them. Maybe issue is I redeem 1&2 at flixster first (where I can view them)? For whatever reason the UV doesn't register on vudu for those seasons. But I redeemed 3-5 at vudu and they work on both no issue. Frustrating.

Did you redeem the season 1 and 2 codes a while back? When HBO TV seasons went UV, a lot of folks were having trouble with seasons already redeemed not porting to other services.

Contact Flixster customer support and tell them that the seasons are not transferring to other UV services. They'll likely reload them for you and then they should transfer properly.
