Didn't find anything on this doing a search, but I want this movie on BD. I thought I read something about some company got the right's to some other company's catalog of titles and this was one of them. Anyone else like this film?

I paid to see it in the theatre back in the day. It's not all that. It's like a super religious drunk version of Braveheart, and the ending

as does the whole movie. I mean God supposedly tells this girl running through the forest one day that she has to kill Frances enemies. She chops off her hair, swings her sword and kills some fools on the battlefield and becomes popular. Then the church has to check her virginity to make sure she isn't trolling with them.

, everything checks out. Someone gets jealous and wants her on a stake.

If that sounds appealing to you then you'll love it. It's boring imho.

I own the 2008 Sony Blu-Ray. It was cheap when I got it (probably $12 or so), and it seemed like a pretty common catalogue title, but I see it's absurdly expensive on Amazon right now. Did it go OOP or something?

I suppose I can see how a person can hate the film, given it doesn't add much to the genre and has some pretty ballsy twists on the themes of faith. I just remember loving the style of the film, and Milla Jovovich.

I can't imagine any new release would add more, but if so, better PQ and some extra features might convince me to upgrade for the right price. I also wonder if alternate cuts are possible.

Does anyone know if the new Studio Canal release has been given a remaster? The studio synopsis listed on Amazon ends with "fully restored".

Hmm I am also wondering if its anew scan but still no extras and same soundtrack so I doubt it
