Buena Vista! Since they are catalog titles they will be region free

So it's either shelling out 20£ a piece or waiting for an US release. Tough one...

I've had these on pre-order wit Play.com (UK) since June... They were originally supposed to be out in August (from what I remember... it's been so long).

I just hope that the delays have been to get the transfer absolutely spot on.

Dusk Till Dawn would be a better release, as it is not even available in the US in a "enhanced for widescreen" version. If you get the widescreen version, it is not anamorphic and will display with black bars on all sides on a widescreen TV. There is an anamorphic version, but it is a Japanese release I think, or maybe UK release, I can't remember which. Pulp Fiction was first released like that, but a more recent collectors edition came out that was enhanced for widescreen TV's and it looks great on my BDP 1200 with the HQV upconverting chip. I can live with that. I sold my old copy of Dusk Till Dawn a few years ago when I got a widescreen TV. I went through my collection and checked ever DVD to see if it was anamorphic or enhanced and those that were not were sold off. If I wanted a tiny picture, I would have kept my old TV. And don't mention zoom or picture sizing to me, as those degrade the image quality too much for my taste.

quick question, what's the big deal about Pulp Fiction and KB? not to disrespect each of your own opinions or preferences, I just can't find what's so great about those movies every time people ask me if I have seen Pulp Fiction and/or KB and I immediately say that I didn't like them most folks look at me like I am some sort of freak. I personally think those 3 titles are garbage. I just would like to know what you guys find so attractive on these titles, I think I've seen more post asking for these three movies in the past year and a half that any other out there.

I could go on and on about what I liked about Pulp Fiction, but it is undeniable that it has influenced a broad range of films that have been made since it came out in 1994. Some have gone as far to say it changed movies much like Citizen Kane did 60+ years ago. Even if you don't like Pulp Fiction, I'm willing to bet you like several movies that were influenced by it.

Interesting question... I think every aspect of Pulp Fiction is perfect, acting, directing, music, story, editing, etc... what is not to love? Especially the story and the way its told, its so complex, yet simple and perfectly done. Each time I watch I am still intrigued by it.

Kill Bill 1 and 2 are also great because they are odes to Spaghetti Westerns and Kung-Fu films (two of QT's favorite genres and mine as well). So putting his style on these classic genres makes a really great bunch of films, but if you do not like QT's style, then you may not like it as much.

Cannot wait for Pulp, Kill Bill and Jackie Brown on Blu! If they are anything like Reservoir Dogs on Blu, they will be well worth the wait!

The movie's are more true to life stuff that could happen(except KB) with a "Hip" twist. The music is ALWAYS great!

To each their own but:

Kill Bill V 1 & 2 are an homage to Bruce Lee [Game of Death especially] and the Shaw Bothers martial arts films of the 60s, 70s & 80s. If you aren't a fan of those than Kill Bill may not appeal to you.

Pulp Fiction & Resivour Dogs were the beginning of a genre that has led to so many other films like last years Smokin Aces or Shoot Em Up. Pulp Fiction was ground breaking at the time and paved the way for that specific genre to flourish.

To some these movies are timeless classics..you can probablly throw in The River's Edge, Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart etc....David Lynch was doing it before Tarantino but the audience wasn't ready. Tarantino had the right timing for the product. Lynch was early so his movies were critically acclaimed but not financial hits like Pulp Fiction...Did I mention Natural Born Killers?
