Default Disc hub residue

I've noticed this bronze rusty ring around the hubs of some of my Universal discs. Seems to be a residue of some sorts. When I wipe with a cleaning cloth it goes away but leaves a mark on the cloth. Anyone else experience this?

Probably due to condensation of some sort. Has it hurt movie playback any?

If it's coming from the disc and the data area (the reflective part), I'd be worried...

How would it come from there? It has to be an outside source. Personally I've never witnessed this on any disc, whether Blu-ray, DVD, CD, SACD.

I just looked at the nearest BD to me and it has the same copper-like ring (it's extremely faint and wouldn't be noticeable if it was a uniform circle (it's slightly smeared). It's solid and isn't in a liquid state. My only guess is that it's some kind of bonding agent. Why it would melt or disolve with the OP's discs, I'm not sure.
