I don't know how many people have seen this film, but I would LOVE to have this released on Blu-ray. My teacher showed me this film in one of my English lit. classes, and I immediately fell in love with Ursula Andress (this was before I watch Dr. No).
This was released on DVD under the Warner Archive Collection, but I felt that they did it a disservice. Sure, the picture quality was pretty good for a film from 1965 on DVD. But that's all we got; there were literally no extras. I remember reading about a featurette that was recorded and played whenever She was in syndication on TV. I'd definitely be interested in a Blu-ray release, especially if they included that featurette and some possible archived extras. |

Hard to believe that it hasn’t been released on Blu-ray anywhere in the world by now especially since the sequel has. For the US Warner or Shout! Factory should work on this!

Yup, the wait goes on. Can anyone here tell me if the Warner DVD is anamorphic? I think I read somewhere that it was just letterbox & you had to zoom in the picture, if it’s anamorphic I'll order it, better than nothing.

The back cover states anamorphic. I have the old UK DVD, and that's non-anamorphic.

![]() Well I did buy it, & it is anamorphic, not a bad picture, a bit pale, but at least I can watch it in the correct ‘scope aspect ratio. Last edited by CinemaScope; 11-24-2024 at 10:59 AM. |

I have a question... not sure is this is the right place, but I remember seeing a movie back in the 80's that featured a couple going into a flame, and the woman gets really old. For years I thought that it must be the movie 'She', but I watched it recently and it isn't. Oddly the scene was similar, but the differences were: the girl who went into the flame was young, there was nudity, and the premise was if they were in love they would stay young forever. Plus the whole thing was watched by an older woman who was jealous. It sounds very similar to She, and I thought maybe it would be the 80's remake, but there's no scene like that in it either. Anyone remember it?

As to the jealous older woman, don't know. That concept has been used before in immortality stories. What immediately comes to mind are the Twilight Zone episodes Queen of the Nile and Long Live Walter Jameson. Having watched the Archive DVD when it first came out, the film needs restoration work before it can be released on BD. |

Thanks for the reply! I recently watched She and it wasn't the right film. I recall that in this film the two lovers entered the magical flame, and if in love the flame would keep them young forever, but the girl (dark haired) got old (can't remember if the man did) and the whole thing was being watched by a jealous older woman.

Oops. Never mind. Just realized you also mentioned checking out the '80s version and it wasn't that either.
Try asking in The "Help Me Figure Out What Movie This Is" Thread. Last edited by Michael24; 11-15-2019 at 08:31 PM. |

Yup, I saw it & enjoyed it in 1965, fingers crossed every time there's Warner Archive announcements.
