Here's a great movie that just opened in theaters, and I'm confused as to whether I'll be able to pick it up on Blu-ray later down the road. In the US, the film is distributed theatrically by Miramax, which is of course a branch of Buena Vista aka Disney, and the film is produced by both Paramount Vantage and Miramax. Anyone have a clue as to where this movie will end up, as far as HDM?

Both, but in the US BD exclusive. IMDB is your friend.

I did, but imdb doesn't list who has the distribution rights for the film on home video, yet.

I was told by a Disney insider that it's coming to BD in Feb 08.

I hope so. It was one of the best movies I've seen all year, and one of the better films the Coen Brothers have ever released.

Does anybody know if the other Coen brother films will be on Ble then? I would like Miller's Crossing, Burton Fink, and Fargo to eventually come out.

It's coming in February?!? That seems really early. Not that I'm complaining. I really want to see it again, I think I would like it a lot better the second time around, considering I had just got done watching The Big Lebowski, so I was expecting a little more comical side of the Coens....a la Fargo.

I went and checked the PM he sent me and he said it's coming February 26th...I don't have any reason to think he's lying, but I also have no proof that he's not. I agree that this will probably be more interesting the second go round...I'lll pay even closer attention to the end.

They want to get it out right before the Oscars, the same thing happens every year, Babel came out around the same time in theatres last year.

Also, I loved this movie. It was just so brutal, and I loved it having no soundtrack.

I just saw that rumor page...I'm really hoping it's true. I want to see Count of Monte Cristo badly.
