United Kingdom Harry Potter Hogwarts Collection (Amazon UK Exclusive) - November 24th, 2014

Looks like the UK will finally be getting the Hogwarts Collection. Amazon has put up a signup page showing a November 24th release date, as well as it being an Amazon.co.uk exclusive.

Was wondering if we were going to be getting this. Better alternative for those that want all of the disc content and don't care about the collectibles.

I really don't need it, but my Wizards' collection is rather annoyingly ruined by my copy of Deathly Hallows Part 1 on Blu-Ray being scratched and parts of the film get skipped. I can't just use the standard edition disc either as the disc art doesn't match up. Really annoying.

Not sure I would be willing to pick this up either, given that I've already bought all of the films multiple times. (Love them!) I am also holding out hope that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them's release may be an opportunity for WB to release more extended cuts of the films and/or 3D editions of each of the films. Still remaining hopeful for particularly the latter!

Pointless release, considering most people have all the movies by now. I certainly won't be replacing my 8-film Harry Potter DVD box set with this. Who cares about special features?

A fair few people. Just because it's of no interest to you doesn't mean it's a "pointless" release.

I own the 8-film boxset as well but, for the right price, would be tempted by this for the 3D copies of 7 and 8, the extended version of 1 and 2 and the 8-part documentary.

There is so much wrong with this comment, I don't where to begin... 1) I have yet to own all the movies, 2) DVD box set? You do know what website you're on right? and 3) Like Buddy says, lots of folks care about special features! It's really that simple.

I'm looking forward to getting an inexpensive box set with all the extras and with the correct title for the first movie!

1. I said 'most people, not everyone. Obviously, there wil be a few who don't but most who want the movies will have them by now.

2. I know this is a site about Blu-ray Discs but many people on here such as myself have DVDs also.

3. Whilst this may be the case, in my opinion, it's not something I can see many people finding important enough to replace their non-special feature box sets with seeing as the main draw is the movies themselves.

I think the main point is that this is not a "pointless" release as you dismissed it. Whether people want the extended editions, the 3D versions, the special features or are yet to upgrade to blu-ray from DVD - or if they don't own them at all yet - there are plenty of reasons why people might want to get this set.

It's not pointless it's just not for you. There's a huge difference. (Though why youd settle for DVD is a mystery...)

You know, it's OK to just to not want something, DalekBuster. You don't need to justify not wanting a set by dismissing it as pointless or coming up with a bizarre reason (like how Sherlock will, by your estimates, end after series 4 and so you don't want series 3 yet) and coming back with twisted logic replies to justify that justification. It's OK to simply not want to spend money on something

I just don't see the point in double dipping. I own it. It's watchable. And there are no problems with it. Therefore it does the job.

I know that. But this is a forum and debates are what these sites are for.

Looks nice and it interests me but those cardboard pockets are making me cringe, especially because the amount of DVDs that come in it.

No need to double dip if they are still watchable

I know this is a joke but I think the difference with VHS is the picture quality between VHS and DVD and Bluray is massive. VHS tapes are also very easy to break. I had VHS copies of the first two Harry Potter copies and they got jammed. It broke the tape.

So I would recommend anyone who only has VHS copies of the Harry Potter films to upgrade to Bluray or(if there are Muggles in your house and only one Bluray player outside your bedroom) DVD.

There are millions of Harry Potter fan boys/girls who are willing to double dip, myself included.

We all have our craze. Harry Potter is mine.

I'll be buying this for sure. I wont be using the discs just adding it to my collection. Already own standard Blu-ray discs, Ultimate Editions, Wizards Collection and Limited Edition.
