I keep looking and wondering why the Studios supporting Blu-Ray are not releasing the big Blockbuster movies, sure to capture the attention of the consumer. When I go on Amazon or HighDefDigest to see what's 'coming soon' all I see is off name, low budget releases, with maybe 1 or 2 blockbusters. In my opinion (IMO) if Blu-Ray wanted to make a greater impact and sell more players and movies, they need to release blockbuster movies 'everyone' would recognize and "want" !!! As in the past, software will always dictate hardware. So, bring on the blockbusters and let's be done with this format war, once and for all. We (Blu-Ray fans) have the superior product, more capacity, the studios like it, so why not end this NOW ? [Jim]

Blu is still in it's infancy give it time plus for god sake let's give my bank account a break as well. lol

There will be many more blockbusters from here on out

They didn't come out right away on DVD either. Star Wars, for example, took forever. And then when it finally came out it was evil tampered-with versions.

Blu-ray has had its share of blockbusters. Consider too that it's difficult to get a studio to release a blu-ray disc unless it's guaranteed a certain return on the initial investment. Until there is a greater installed base of players to guarantee greater sales, it will be slow going.

You might want to go and check out what is available on Blu as well as coming soon titles. I think we on the blu team have a wonderful selection with lots of options for everyone.

What titles are on your wish list?? Just take a serious look at what we have, not bad for a fairly new format in my opinion.

You would have hated the early days of DVD...

Seriously though, Day & Date releases seem to sell better than catalog titles, and most every Day & Date title is being released Day & Date... along with some pretty big catalog titles that have already been released, or will soon be released.

Still as soon as the war's over (next year ) and the studio-catalog starting pistol goes off, we'll go through that "renaissance" of audiences rediscovering catalog titles that are just now coming out in the Neato format--
I remember back in '99, right after DIVx Armistice Day, when the restored Yellow Submarine reappeared out of nowhere two weeks after I'd gotten my first DVD player, and we all officially knew this new invention would change the world.

Seriously though, Day & Date releases seem to sell better than catalog titles, and most every Day & Date title is being released Day & Date... along with some pretty big catalog titles that have already been released, or will soon be released.

Day&Date is a good excuse for getting titles out there automatically, without having to judge "which" demographic to pitch selected titles to--But we've also seen "Anniversary Editions" as a good excuse to push old catalog titles onto Blu, with the excuse of getting them out there for SD.
Too late to help some of the 80's-Poll titles we heard from Sony, but they seem to be getting the idea to use the "re-release" alibi.
