Exclamation Thanksgiving Weekend Sales Policies

1) Stores will not Price Match competitors.

2) You cannot buy something early and then go get a Price Adjustment or Return/Rebuy.

3) Unless a Retailer Exclusive is specifically on sale, don't expect to buy Retailer Exclusives for Black Friday prices.

They also WILL match electronic E-Circulars of other retailers but you MUST print out the circular, they will not accept it from a mobile device. The cashiers have been instructed to match on the spot at the register. You should NOT have to go to Customer Service. If it's still like it was a few years ago, any price adjustment over $20 will require a management key flick.

You're sure about that?

What I have read is that Walmart will price match competitors on selective BF items only not across the board. It's going to be there call though.

Going forward, WMT new policy is to price match competitor online prices in addition to those shown in local competitor ads as in the past. But I don't believe neither applies on BF.

Point me in the right direct (link please) if I'm mistaken

Why is this a thread? Like all throughout the year people will try to circumvent these rules and YMMV but people do find success in price matching and or returning and getting a lower price.

Good luck with that. The employees will fight you every step of the way. The lines will be very long, so other customers will become impatient and get irritated with you. Finally, if you try to call corporate, their lines will be swamped with calls anyway.

That's fine. I'll do as I've done in the past, ask for a manager, suggest the employee turn out their light and then turn to the person behind me and warn that this might take a while, they may want to consider going to another register.

In my experience when I worked at Walmart during college, we always matched Black Friday prices and as long as people had printed ads back then we were told it was all about getting the customer rung out and happy. Obviously if something looked very wrong it was to be questioned, but at least at our store we were told the main thing was to ALWAYS take care of the customer. If you needed to partner with management for verification fine take the time. Our store always had more CSMs on the floor too that were able to verify key flick needed transactions as well during "Blitz Period" we never called it Black Friday back in those days. Our store was far from perfect, but we had an excellent management team in my opinion who knew how to always take care of the customer.

True that is why I would personally wait until the insanity dies down before trying this. Otherwise watch your back

Now the question remains will the stores (and most especially the managers) actually follow their own corporate policy?

there is also something known as discover price protection if you pay in full with discover card
'If you find a lower price on a recently purchased item at any store within 90 days of purchasing the item with your Discover card, you are automatically eligible for a reimbursement of the price difference up to $500.'

and it works on black friday doorbuster and all

Does this include online? Because I'm hoping that Amazon PMs all the Walmart/Target stuff that I can't buy.

Amazon is not a store. It's also hit or miss with regards to price matching. Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't.

Walmart has vowed to try to beat Amazon this year by now offering to match prices on Amazon.com that are shipped and sold by Amazon in an attempt to win over customers. One could only assume this will probably mean that Amazon will match or beat Walmart on many of their printed ad prices since it would be hard for Walmart to quickly get the word out that they were now lower, except for via social media. Social media will be your friend this year as it was last year so make sure you like and follow your favorite stores for exclusive discounts.
