Wow. There were a lot of tough choices here. I mean, The Godfather vs. A Clockwork Orange?! Ouch. That just hurts.

The next time you have a day off with nothing planned, you MUST watch both of those films, they're in my top 10 and I'm shocked you haven't seen them yet Astro. I always like reading your sig because it nearly mirrors my favorite films as well, which is why it's a surprise you've yet to see those two modern classics. GET TO IT!!

I enjoy it much more than OUATIA overall. Empire has excellent pacing and it just seems to fly by every time I watch it. It usually takes me two sittings to get through OUATIA, which I have seen many times and like, but it's not the easiest film to get through for me. Of all of the films on this list, OUATIA is the only one I wouldn't be excited to have to watch honestly.

It's terrible filmmaking. It might be fun, but it's awful filmmaking. It's classic Lucas -- I have no idea what I am doing.

I mean, compare Lucas to ... oh I don't know, Kieslovski, Bergman, Godard, Nolan, Hitchcock, Antonioni, Fincher, Herzog, Dreyer, ANYONE!

Come on.

that's how I feel about PULP FICTION..... and you know Lucas didn't direct EMPIRE right?

Ironically I agree with you on a very small level. The attempts at humor early in the film are downright cringeworthy ("you could use a good kiss!", "laugh it up", "you... nerfherder!"

but I still think it's an overall excellent film!
