Ok, this isn't regarding our continuing battle of Blu-ray vs HD-DVD. This is about the pure and unrelenting pleasure I feel EVERY time I put one of those gorgous Blu-ray discs in my PS3
![]() But on a more serious note, I just finished watching "Reign over me". Gorgeous movie. Great movie. Heartfelt movie. It just came across so sharp, detailed and alive. And as the movie ended, I was just sitting there thinking..."whow, how can I -ever- enjoy a DVD again?". I'm hooked for life, and I know it. Getting the HD experience in my own livingroom on such a superb format as Blu-ray is just a dream come through. I have loved movies ever since I was a toddler running around in the late 70s. It is my one great passion and hobby that I will never ever give up. And the movie experience has never been greater than this for me. I simply cant for the life of me see how it can get better than this. So I want to wrap this teary-eyed post up with a HUGE thank you to Sony, FOX, Disney and all the other BDA contributors and members for giving us this fantastic movie format. Thank you for giving me (and all my fellow movie lovers) the ultimate movie experience! /bow |

For everything that is already in the can, so to say, it's not going to get much better, certainly not on any format that has a chance in hell of going mainstream. Picture quality is already better than most theaters and audio is better than all. 95% of the limitations of a well-done disc is in the source material, not the format at this point. It's truly remarkable when you think about it.

UHDTV and holographic disc is pretty much as good as it gets. The human eye can't appreciate any higher resolution. |

Unquestionably storage and resolution can always go up, but when the filmmakers themselves tell you that there is no perceptual difference between the master and the BD (i.e. Ratatouille) on a screen size that could still be considered a home theatre, I feel upward potential on material that has already been produced is limited. Basically, I feel good about Blu-ray fulfilling my movie needs for the foreseeable future.

Yeah I shiver whenever I watch SD channels ever since that fateful day I watched my first blu-ray. Interestingly I don't have any problems watching god awful PQ videos on youtube.
Would I live to see the day youtube is in HD? |

When my b/f first mentioned buying a blu-ray player I was like sure no problem but it just wasn't for me. But after watching it I think I have become a bigger blu supporter than him.
Don't get me wrong he is up front in the battles lines educating people who walk into Magnolia looking for the next generation player. He might of have bought the blu player for the living room but I ended up buying the blu player for the bedroom. lol |
