Never seen Day of the Reaper, but I've seen a lot of Tim Ritter's other stuff, including Truth or Dare? A Critical Madness, which is Elijah Wood's favorite horror film of all time. Ritter specializes in sleazy no-budget slasher movies that nobody will ever mistake for great cinema, but they have their charms. His early films were among the first to be produced for the '80s direct-to-video horror market, so they're important in that respect at least and are interesting time capsules from that era.
Close to pulling the trigger on Reaper, but the price is kinda high for my blood. Love the cover art. |

I ordered one. Tim Ritter's Killing Spree is one of my favorite movies (seriously), and I'm dying to see this. Even though it is a BD-R, it will have pro labels and artwork.
The guy who runs SRS is super cool. He went out of his way to get me a copy of the Killing Spree VHS/DVD Combo a couple years back. ![]() jthefrank, nope it doesn't look like it's in the database yet... |

Even Tim Ritter himself has openly mocked Day of the Reaper, so I'm sure he's not behind the high ratings on IMDb and would be very amused. |

Pressed/replicated discs are manufactured on demand too.
I don't understand the reasoning that a BD-R is somehow ineligible for limited edition status. They have the rights. They're only making 100 copies. That should mean they aren't going to burn any more copies. Only difference with a pressed discs is it would mean they wouldn't press more copies. Not exactly rocket science. And as anyone who has read any of the countless Twilight Time freakout threads should know: you can essentially scare people into buying a $10 Blu for 3x that much if you make it a limited edition. The audience for this thing is extremely limited. If you're baffled by the concept here you can assume that they figured this was the best way to score $3000 with this title. This thing took nearly two weeks to sell through a run that is 1/30th of a TT run so the demand is practically non-existent. Last edited by GuruAskew; 12-13-2014 at 02:25 AM. |
