Can there be stricter enforcement on people who create threads in the North America BD section, for titles that have yet to see one shred of confirmation of even existing at that point?
If there is a race/prize to being the OP in the most number of threads on there, then disregard this as I apologize for not knowing about that in advance of asking this -- but otherwise, there seems no logical reason to race (with yourself or 1 other apparently, since there's only 1-2 real culprits of doing this repeatedly) to try and start a thread with no known information. That seems to be what the "wishlist" section is for, is it not?? ![]() So these entries of "this should hopefully be released sometime soon" can stop clogging up the forum for those of us who like actual information to be posted about and be available at the time of posting? This has been an ongoing problem in that section for a while now, I'm aware. But now it's being noticed that those who do that, are now going into other subsections of the forum and creating threads for things that either: -do not exist, period. -have barely even been announced -have NO information/details to them other than "coming soon" -pre-orders for titles that have no pre-order links even available on any major retailer's site, and are not even released in theaters yet It wouldn't be a problem if those who feel the desperate need to be an OP on everything, actually UPDATED the thread once information is known 6-8 months later. But just to create a thread and then never return to it, & have to have a Mod input the relevant information many months later seems ridiculous. |

[Show spoiler] , but noted that I should probably make it more clear on what I was talking about in the bolded part here. They brought up other sections of the forum which this happens that I wasn't even aware of as I do not frequent them myself, but clearly its then a larger problem. But to make it clearer, I was referencing that same member also now going into the STEELBOOKS section and creating threads with the same MO - no known information, pure speculation; or making a thread and listing everything as "coming soon" and never updating it many months later after that when actual information is known. ![]() |

I agree. People who start threads should update their OPs, not just abandon them.

Poor Neoz, has to always do others' work by inputting relevant info into the OP. Thankfully he's doing 99% of the OP updating ![]() ![]() |

We had issues with members creating threads just to be first and not having any verifiable evidence...we made it clear that we are not going to allow it. If post #1 is not getting updated and a member wants to become the OP to keep the thread current, just send us a pm and we will change the OP
