Disney Movie Rewards - Blu-ray Forum

I didn't see a thread dedicated to the DMR rewards In this Canadian sub section of the forum, so i thought I'd create a new one. I was thinking of posting this in the Disney Movie Club, but it's a completely different thing so I thought it warranted it's own thread. Not sure if there will be many posts in it though since it's not exclusive to Canada (perhaps a mod might prefer it be in the US section?).....

Anyways, Disney movie Rewards has added a bunch of blu-rays to it's list of possible rewards. Most of the latest additions are the releases that come in the DVD case instead of the blu-ray case, but there are a few of the blu-ray cases as well.

I just ordered Atlantis & Hunchback of Notre Dame for 1200 points each.

Ugh! Hate those DVD cases like many blu-ray enthusiasts. Probably why they are getting rid of them for points. No one wants them.

my preference is also the blu-ray cases, that's why i ordered Atlantis & Hunchback.

but in the past i've also ordered titles that came in the DVD case. My collection still has a lot of DVDs, so i don't mind that much....

but i agree with you that Disney is probably clearing out the DVD case versions of these titles for that very reason - most people rather have the blu-ray case.

I found out that points expire if one doesn't log in with a certain time frame, ie. 200 days or something. This happened to me just recently and I needed to contact support. All's well now, though. Still waiting for some actual merch to come available, and not just stuff you can get in any store.

^ yeah, got an email today saying my points would expire if I don't act today!

Do they ship you the Canadian version of the movies if you live in Canada or are they all US versions as depicted? With some releases the artworks are identical so it matters not, some have bilingual covers, but in other cases like Gnomeo and Juliet it is a totally different distributor (eOne vs. Disney).

US version as depicted, at least in my experience so far.

Blu-Ray. Disney Generally Puts DVD+Blu Ray if it's in DVD packaging.

Also, I've never seen the Blu Ray for this in DVD packaging.

Got them all. I'm hoping they put up a nice double-sided The Force Awakens poster as a reward. The posters are decent rewards as they are quite pricey online. Got the Ant-Man and Guardians of the Galaxy teaser posters. The posters run out fast.

Has anyone who has redeemed DMR points have had to wait for long shipping times for their rewards? Also, what sort of quality (ie. amount of damage) has yours arrived in?

My experience has been so far:

The last item I received (Finding Nemo blu) says that it was shipped from Fort Eerie (about an hour's drive from where I am) and it took ~2.5 weeks to get to me. As well, the blu-ray case was broken on the inside.

The second item I redeemed points for, was back on the 21st. It still hasn't arrived, and the shipping confirmation was 12 days ago.

Starting to feel like Disney Movie Rewards doesn't entirely care about it's members outside of the USA.

It is a free service, so I guess I shouldn't complain, but still...

Yeah, they take their time sending out mail, using the cheapest option available which gives Canada Post time to send it off in different directions before landing at it's final destination. Just be patient and it'll come.

As for condition, mostly everything I've ordered from them have come in great condition. Never ordered any Blu's however. But the posters I usually receive in good condition, except the last two Star wars ones, were the worst yet. The ends of the rolls all beat up, no damage to the shipping tube though.
