Cool Isn't It About Time For A BOGO Sale With The Release OF Bourne?

OK, powers at Blu. Isn't it time to kill off the year by offering a BOGO with the release of Universal's newest Bourne title? This is DUD's last opportunity to win a week, in 2007, and we would love to see a 70+ Blu week to gut the opposition. Right now, the DUD spinmeisters are in denial and retreat. We have an opportunity to push them off of the cliff, with a good week. What say you, FOX, Disney and Sony? Warner already has a number of titles at $19.99 this week.

I would love another BOGO sale! Even a B2G1 sale would be cool.

Are they common during these release dates? I missed out on the previous one and have a lot of catching up to do

How about instead of a BOGO, universal just announces that Bourne is releasing on Blu. I think that would win us the week :P

I would love a fox or warner BOGO

If you wanted a Fox BOGO, Fry's has had one on since before Black Friday...of course, I understand that people are wanting one from Amazon so that they can get free shipping. However, for a Fox BOGO to be effective, they need to add some titles to those that Fry's already has out.

Yeah sorry Frys shipping rates just kind of kill it for me. Plus I hope for more titles I actually want crossing my fingers for a F42 include...I know longshot.

I love these BOGO deals, there seems to be one every month. I'm never going to buy a full priced Blu Ray disc ever again.

If they do another BOGO, I hope it's different titles or the same titles with more titles added.
I'm pretty much stocked up on all the Disney/BuenaVista and Fox titles from the BOGO sales in the last month.

I think that we have had some pretty good deals on Blu this year. The free movies with players and BOGO sales here.

I am sure that there will be some sort of sale at some point before the end of the year, but we have proven we can beat HD DVD on any given week with or with-out a sale.

I hope they don't do one that week because it is the same week as the Harry Potter movies and I think the ratios for those matter much more than the overall ratio. I don't want to see anything take money away that might have been spent on Harry Potter BDs. This is a week I would like to see the Blu-ray side crush the HD DVD side in the ratios for those titles, as I believe not only that Warner is the most important studio to impress at the moment, but that other studios are going to be watching big common titles like these. And Warner has stacked the deck by making the prices the same, although they made the HD DVD a combo (probably costs them more, but allows sales to some people who want the DVD part) and did the PiP on the HD DVD version. The HP releases and the Blade Runner releases look like the last big common titles for 2007 and closing out the year with good ratios for those should keep the HD DVD camp from using their sales as talking points (even if it is that they got closer than with 300, so they are making progress).

I think the Bourne and HP is a week people should be trying to rally PS3 owners one last time for 2007. Given that the Transformers week ended up at 51:49 (and that could have been 51.1, which if it had only been 50.9 would likely have been truncated to 50:50 since HMM doesn't look like they round), every little bit counted and it is possible that Blu-ray wouldn't have won that week in the report if PS3 owners elsewhere hadn't been informed about the sales. Somebody here asked for some help rallying PS3 owners and I wrote something here:

https://forum.blu-ray.com/showthread...521#post273521

This time is a little different because I don't think working to win the week should be the main goal. It should be working to get the highest ratio possible for the HP movies (especially the box set and the last one). I think Warner will consider the box set more important even if Nielsen only counts it as one, so wouldn't encourage people to buy the individual ones if they really want the box set. They could use the money they would save by buying the box set, instead of all the individuals, toward other BDs if they wanted to.

I don't frequent PS3 boards, so hopefully people will get the message out about the HP BDs starting around Sunday the 9th.

I'm with Darin on this one. Let's go buy some Harry Potters.

By the way, I already came up with a possible excuse for the DUD-sters: "We had both Bourne and HP to choose from, while Blu-ray didn't have any big exclusive on their side!"

Those who's reading this, feel free to use it anywhere you want but make sure you credit this site for the idea.

enjoy

I count 15 BD titles being released on 12/11, including the Harry Potter films, Lost: Season 3, and High School Musical 2. I don't think Bourne has a chance in hell of moving the weekly numbers even a little. Besides, running a B1G1 sale two weeks before Christmas isn't necessary or all that smart. I am hoping they put one after Christmas, though, when everyone has giftcards to spend.
