Different director by the looks of IMDB. Personally, I wasn't a fan of the first one and I remember with Tarantino's stamp on it I was really looking forward to it too.

Still, given he came back to star in it and wrote the story, he must not be that upset about it.

I didn't even really like the first one, but I'll give this a chance.

Only reason I'm even on board because as soon as I saw it wasn't directed by RZA I immediately became disinterested.

No one is pretending the Rza can act, but I feel he handled himself well under Eli Roth's supervision on MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS. It was a well made, entertaining, movie and a unique marriage of superheroes, kung-fu, and exploitation movies. He had a vision and he followed through on it; I respect that.

MAN WITH THE IRON FISTS 2...I don't think it'll be half the movie. Roel Reine is my favorite B-movie director, but that's because he specifically likes to make B-movies. He's not really interested in telling a story or even directing the actors...he lets the writers do what they'll do and the actors do what they do, and concentrates on the visuals. I'm hoping this will at least be a fun movie that is well produced and nice to look at, but I don't think it'll be anywhere near as slick or as fun as the original, which was more of a B+ movie.

I'll still be picking this up if I see it used.

Doesn't look as good as the first one and that one had all the flaws of a vanity project. I'll give it a shot if it's streaming somewhere.
