Thanks for posting the trailer for Poltergeist 3D. I hope the film makers do justice to the story and deliver a proper and effective remake.

The original Poltergeist is still one of my favorite go to Halloween movies.

Anybody who doesn't want the entire film ruined for them should avoid this trailer. I made the mistake of watching it and now I know where about a half a dozen jump-scares will be , plus the entire plot of the whole film. Would it kill them to leave some of the film a mystery to let us discover on our own? They showed way too much in this trailer. When will these idiots learn - less is more when it comes to trailers.

Personally, I don't think this needed to be remade anyways. The original is still one of the more frightening films I've ever seen - and it's rated PG! This trailer showed tons of cgi effects, but is that what makes a film scary? And the original didn't need to rely on lots of jump-scares to be effective.

I'm sure I'll still give this a chance, but I doubt it will even come close to the original. As far as the 3D - I fully expect it to be another mediocre 3D offering with minimal 3D. This would be a great film to throw some 3D scares at you, but I bet it won't do that.

I think...for a remake....it looks promising. I'll give it a shot. But I'm in agreement with Mar3o, the original is such a horror classic that I dont think it needs a remake, imo. Hopefully the 3D will be effective and enjoyable.

Very similar feel to the original movie, so seems definitely like a direct remake versus a reboot. If the 3D is strong, then I'd consider it.

I like Poltergeist 2 also; that evil looking old guy and the big monster worm. Poltergeist III, in the skyscraper had some cool mirror scares.

For those who have never seen the original Poltergeist, this new trailer of the remake will be tough for them to know the whole story like fans of the original do.

A lot of the 80's trailers also, would reveal most of the major story points and let them unfold as if a short version of the final movie, so those were spoilers back then too, designed mostly to sell the effects and monsters in the films.

The jump scares here didn't really show much scary IMO, so I'd guess they're saving those for the final movie.

Favorite part of this trailer is when they show the many eyes in the dark. Though it reminds me of the old cartoons, so not really scary; they should make those eyes red or something.

Yeah, part 2 had some good moments. The old man made the movie. It was his last part before he died. He was actually sick while filming it.

Excellent news! I won't watch the trailer as horror trailers are always too spoilerific but this is great that its a 3D movie! Can't wait for it now.

Yeah, it's hopefully worthy 3D here for the horror genre.

He looked gauntly around the eyes, yes. Probably one reason I had some nightmares as a kid, from his creepy role. That is too bad. A lot of the key actors from the original series had some costly results from medical operations after being ill, most not surviving, including the girl Heather O Rourke, as Carol Ann.

I'm pretty excited for this honestly and that it's in 3d I also have high hopes for both the 3d and movie itself considering it's from the director of the very underrated Monster House.

For me, it was Reverend Kane's teeth that creeped me out.

Thanks for the heads-up.
The search feature did not bring up any Poltergeist 3D thread and now I don't get an edit option to delete this one after a second post has been made.

Sorry.

Please use Chaotic's original Poltergeist 3D (2015) thread.

No worries, I vaguely recalled seeing a thread for this. Great to hear about the 3D though mate.

Good to see. Post your thoughts on the 3D.

I'll be checking this out finally, soon. I didn't see it in theaters as there were other movies playing that took priority during that time.
