There are a good number of apps available. Some that come to mind are iRule, RoomieRemote, Control 4, URC
If your devices are on your network you can demo iRule and I think roomie. If they are not on your network then you will need something to convert IR to WiFi. They also have IR, WiFi to serial adapters. The best place to look would be globalcache.com http://www.globalcache.com/ You can see what apps are available and what hardware to get them up and running. HTH |

I use the Crestron Mobile App on an iPad. The processor I use is pretty much their bottom of the line and really wasn't designed to run a whole theatre I don't suspect, but the QM-RMC is a robust little bugger and it does the trick for me.
I've been running it for years and it really is rock solid. With only a single IR out on it it does mean I'm blasting the same IR signal to all devices but that hasn't been a problem for me as I don't have that many devices to worry about and there hasn't been any issues. I've run multiple IR/RS232/IP based devices all without a hitch... the hang up with it is cost. You can pick-up used hardware on EBay for reasonable prices I think but unless you know a programmer you are likely out of luck trying to actually do anything with the hardware. Control 4 will probably be pretty similar in pricing to Crestron and URC isn't too far behind, but I've read good things about solutions like iRule. |
