Do you just go and see them in the cinema or do you do a refresher with the previous movies first
With the next Bond I will rewatch the Craig ones again With Avengers AOU I plan on watching Avengers and Cap TWS don't have GotG on Blu ATM so I doubt it will matter but will rewatch if I get it before hand |

I'm more prone to do this with television shows. Sometimes I'll ramp up to a new season by rewatching the last few episodes of the previous season.
I can't think of the last film franchise that made me want to do that. X-Men, maybe. I think I might have rewatched First Class a few weeks before Days of Future Past was due to hit BD in order to reacquaint myself with those characters. |

I so rarely see anything in the theater anymore. But when I get the Blu of some sequel, say DoFP, I usually will watch whatever immediately preceded it. Though last year, one of the three movies I saw in the theater was Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1, and for that I did watch Catching Fire earlier in the day -- though, I've seen it some many times already, I'm not sure exactly why I did that.

Is this by choice
I remember the last movie I saw Kingsmen I was in front of a couple say late 40's and the woman felt the need to comment on everything I just turned around and said "Are you f'ing going to talk through the whole movie" and they both left |

...and luckily for me my wife has become a film lover due to my obsession for cinema and she has an amazing sense of humor...
case(s) in point: A.) We will be watching Star Wars Episodes I, II, III, IV, V and VI (in this order), before seeing "Star Wars: Episode VII". The cool part of this is that (at least with parts I-V), each of films will be better than the previous one. B.) We will be viewing Rocky I, II, III, IV, V and VI before seeing "Creed". C.) We will be watching the three Daniel Craig Bond films before the new one. C.) We will definitely watch "Blade Runner: The Final Cut" before seeing the sequel, despite the fact that I've seen the film (in various versions about fifteen times while she has only seen it four times) ...did I mention that she's a very kind and patient woman? I said virtually always in the header (title), because there are certain exceptions... quite frankly speaking, after the last installments of the "Die Hard" and "Indiana Jones" franchises ...well, let's just say that it's highly unlikely that we'll bother with any additional entries in the series. If we do, however; decide to watch any future sequels, we won't be watching the earlier films. In fact, I daresay that absolutely nothing could ever possibly convince us to revisit either of those two (and I use this term very loosely ...), movies. ![]() |
