Default Ninja Scroll - Re-Releasing May 19th!

It does not look like any new features; just new packaging. The embossed foil slipcover looks really nice though. Anyone plan on double-dipping on this? I don't normally double-dip for artwork alone, but this could be worth it at the current price.

It needs a new transfer, not a new slip cover.

Yep, 'fraid so. I've seen uncompressed shots of the UK Blu-ray and it looked exactly the same as the US one.

Black crush and DNR issues aside, it still shits all over the DVD, see Xenonas post.

I'm with scar. I don't have the first release so I might get this one. But if I did have the first one I wouldn't double dip on it.

I double dipped because with GA and the Sentai sale it was only $13

If I then sold the old release for a few dollars I'd consider it even (I've paid $5-10 for cool slips before anyways).

Then why not just buy the slipcover.

Oh wait...because no one wants to sell their anime slips haha. Dang them all...*shakes fist vigorously*

Which release do you have? Unless you purchased the DVD released alongside the BD (this one https://www.blu-ray.com/dvd/Ninja-Scroll-DVD/38526/) than your DVD looks indeed THAT bad. =]

If it was released before the May 2012 it will look just like in that comparison as no other scan existed up till then.

Mine came today--the slip looks amazing! Foil AND embossed. Plus they did not use the slip-destroying stickers they used with Short Peace.

Edit: Pics!

SKU number.

If it is 8 digit it is usually online only.

7 digit and usually it'll be carried in store. For the most part the SKU method is pretty accurate. Again sometimes even a 7 digit SKU won't be in store. Also, if they have less then 3 copies in store sometimes those won't show up either for instore pickup.

I was at BB today and asked if they had any but nope. I guess I'll just order it at BB.com and hope that I get a good slip.

Seems like my scheming ways are being trumped. The slip cover has the upc printed on it while the actual bluray doesn't have it at all. I doubt I could keep the slip and return the unopened disc now =/

Might not want to talk about that.

The site admin consider that stealing. Just a friendly heads up.
