Dont worry. There's nothing strange. It's getting released here in HK stores this Wednesday.

Does anyone here know if the English subtitles of the Vicol releases are cleaned up or just the old, bad, English subs?
I have a proper translation of this movie available (PAL speed, though) but I would like to know since I'm thinking of getting the FBTS 1-3 and Flirting Scholar as well.

I don't think the subs are cleaned up, at least not for God of Gamblers. At the end of the movie they refer to "Las Vegas" as "Les Vegas". Unbeliable that they didn't bother to correct that hehe.

The English sub titles is good - no grammor misstakes. I did'nt sea anything that was that bad.





They are good, not excellent, just good and better than old HK dvds.

Best audio: Dragon Dynasty DVD multipack (Cantonese mono).

Since other Chow films are mentioned in this thread besides FBWL, is there any chance of a remaster of Kung Fu Hustle one day? I think the BD transfer is an old one using MPEG-2 technology, which isnt that much of an improvement over the DVD.

If you reckon KFH BD isn't much of an improvement over dvd then you need to borrow my glasses sure it uses the older MPEG-2 technology but it's still a good transfer,in fact the review right here on this site gives it 4.5/5 and calls it "wonderful"
