Default Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers (1995) (Unrated Producer's Cut)

Someone posted this screen grab in a Blu-ray Facebook group earlier today...

I don't have access to Lionsgate Link. What are we looking at here? Is this legit?

If I had to guess, I'd think Lionsgate (which has the full Miramax library now that Echo Bridge is done with their titles) is releasing the Producer's Cut of the film, however it won't have the extras from SF's box set...

True the only thing surprising is the $9.99 SRP

Seeing that it's a Lionsgate catalog title (not to mention that at this time I'm not expecting to pay Shout Factory for licensing any extras from the box set), the MSRP really doesn't surprise me, to be honest.

It's a Lionsgate catalog title and likely won't have any special features. The $9.99 MSRP doesn't surprise me at all.

Release date is September 15th!:

And unfortunately, there won't be a DVD version.

I wonder if there will be any difference in the video or audio. We'll just have to wait and find out.

No way. This was one of the only reasons I double dipped and got the deluxe set. I already have the H1 digibook, as well as the Scream release of H3 with the slipcover. I won't be getting this, but god damn it was about time!

Good if true. Already have the Halloween Digi, the Universal Halloween II, and the Scream Halloween III. This film was the only thing I was interested in getting out of the set since apparently H20 doesn't look very good (don't care about 4,5,8, and the Zombies).

Producers Cut? Surely that would be the theatrical cut.

It's not. The Producer's Cut was the alternate version of the film that was included in SF's Deluxe Box Set of the series.

No...the theatrical cut is technically the director's cut because Joe Chappelle wanted the drastic reshoots after the failed screen test of the Producer's Cut, which included less Donald P. screen time,
[Show spoiler]Jamie's death scene changed
, and entirely different 3rd act.

For anyone who resisted the Deluxe set if this was all they wanted, it looks like patience will be rewarded.

Looks legit and is probably the reason why Scream couldn't release the Producer's cut separately and why the box set would only be available for a limited time.

That's awesome news! I already own the Deluxe 15 disc set that includes the Producer's Cut already but to those who only wanted the set for this only can finally rejoice.

I bet some people who bought the collection just for the Producer's Cut will be pissed now. Haha! Still, cool that's it apparently getting its own release. I already have the box set, but I know some people personally who will be happy to hear this news.

Nah, they're convinced it's the first time on Blu-ray so that doesn't give much confidence. It'll be the cut slapped on disc with no further effort.

The Shout limited version was also a cheap way to get all the movies and cuts when it was sold cheap. It's a nice box set, nothing will change that.

SO glad I didn't break down and get the box set JUST for this! Didn't think a stand alone release would come.

Though I'm not a fan of the producer's cut at all I am interested whether the a/v encoding it better. Hopefully some screencap comparisons and a BDInfo scan pop up.
