Default Lemora: A Child's Tale of the Supernatural (1973) coming from Synapse

It looks like Synapse is upgrading Lemora to Blu.

https://www.facebook.com/synapsefilm...e=1&permPage=1

Confirmed by the man himself, Don May. A 4K restoration?

Cool. One of the best-looking DVDs I've ever seen, so the BD should be mindblowing.

I concur. Synapse did an amazing job with the DVD of this film, which seems to be a bit underrated in terms of their overall catalog. I would definitely upgrade, and would pass along my DVD copy to a friend.

I watched it a couple months ago on TCM. It was interesting, but definitely a one-time watch for me. I doubt I'll pick up the blu-ray unless it's super cheap.

That's their stock reply (word for word) when anyone asks them for an update on any title.

Ha, I just noticed my joke response to the original 2015 announcement:

Cool, I recently dumped the DVD along with a number of other Synapse titles, never noticing that this had been announced.

Watched a somewhat battered print of this last year (in a cool double-feature with a fine-looking 16mm print of Let's Scare Jessica to Death). It's was really great to see it on a big screen. The atmosphere holds up well. But apparently it is near impossible to find any film materials in good condition (which supposedly is also the hold up with Synapse's release).

Almost a year later from the last post and still nothing.
not too bummed, as long as we get the best quality possible. I haven't watched this since I was a kid, looking to see how it holds up 30+ years later. I do remember having nightmares for weeks after watching this.

For the DVD they had access to the OCN, I doubt that has changed.
From their 2004 press release:

Mastered directly from the original 35mm camera negatives
(thought to be lost for over thirty years)
and mastered in High Definition using a Spirit DataCine Telecine System,
LEMORA is presented with never-before-seen clarity and detail that will leave you breathless.
