United Kingdom Turbo Kid

Quote:

Lionsgate Home Entertainment UK has officially announced that it will release on Blu-ray Turbo Kid (2015), starring Munro Chambers, Laurence Leboeuf, Michael Ironside, Edwin Wright, and Aaron Jeffery. The release will be available for purchase on October 5.

Quote:
Synopsis: Turbo Kid is a celebration of all things that were awesome about the age of movies on VHS. It's packed with nods to 1980s pop culture (even down to Atari-style credits and its synth-tastic score) and riffs on the kids' adventure movies such BMX Bandits, The Monster Squad and The Goonies.
And for the hardcore fans, there's another staple of the VHS – bucketloads of gore and violence. With its crazy decapitations, disembowelments, and dismembered limbs, Turbo Kid follows in the footsteps of other hyper pastiche movies such as Wolfcop and Hobo With A Shotgun, with director Jason Eisener bringing his grindhouse touch as a producer!

Also on hand is legendary actor Michael Ironside, who brings some serious genre credentials to the movie and leads a cast of up-and-coming talent.

The writing-directing team of Anouk Whissell, François Simard, Yoann-Karl Whissell have not only created a love letter to retro movies, but a love letter to the fans, who are sure to go crazy for The Kid.

So jump on your dirt bike, turn your walkman up to 11, and get turbocharged!

Special Features:
"Bloody Wasteland" - The Making of Turbo Kid (25 min)
"T is for Turbo" (5 min).

I'm totally buying this if it comes out for a tenner.

Did they re-issue the disc with the correct levels? Or is the German release the way to go?

Watched Turbo Kid last night, it was a silly glory blast. I loved Laurence Leboeuf as Apple. She would have been aces as Harley Quinn.

Everything looked great in the film, but it could have really done with a few more background artists in some of the scenes (especially the swimming pool matched).

While trying to buy Turbo Kid recently it unfortunately it looks like the UK bluray is still knackered (or at least the one I returned).

Per previous comments the black bars are grey and the (what should be black) title sequence is equally grey, hence applying over the whole film. Might be passable on a LCD tv but on an OLED tv it's just dire.

It looks like they've applied RGB limited range twice to the film; original source 0-255, tv limited 16-235, then double limited ~42-193.

Bought the US Raven Banner release. Correct blacks but region A locked so needed to rip.
