Default VUDU UHD Rollout

So I noticed today in "My VUDU" list that four of my movies now have big orange "VUDU UHD" headers on them and are available for purchase for between $24.99 and $29.99, or for rental at $9.99.

Fury Road and San Andreas were at the higher price point, and Man of Steel and the Lego Movie are at the lower price point (if you can call $25 low, LOL).

No upgrade options for existing HDX copies as far as I can tell.

Thanks but no thanks at this point, VUDU!!
But I will be keeping an eye out for more feasible options, especially upgrades.

Can always do disc to digital for a very select few titles.

I actually did the survey for Warner about 4k releases and I specifically stated I would not buy 4K digital at anything above $29.99 SRP.

^^^ I read that this was no longer an option and that VUDU had deleted the UHD copies of people that had done the D2D upgrades. Very uncool.

I missed that, sorry. That is uncool. But the price point is still ridiculous for UHD digital. Actually, for HD digital, it's still too prohibitive for a lot of people. Disc to Digital doesn't always help either, especially if there are issues.

Yep. Didn't even bother letting us know about it. Had to contact them via support and wait about 10 days to get a refund. They also now delete any posts on their forums about their F-up.

That's pretty sorry of them. They should of just let you all keep the movies you had bought.

And that's... Cheap? You did not do them a favor you know. $20 is way too much money already for HD digital. $30 is just asking to be robbed.

That was my only choice...

The survey gives a choice of Definitely Yes, Maybe Yes, Neither Yes or No, Maybe Not, and Definitely Not.

Question was "Would you buy a UHD Digital for $29.99?"

My answer was Definitely Not

I had a chance to comment why so I said they should be priced $20 and under for new releases. While older titles should be $15 and under.

Another was "Would you buy a UHD BD + BD + DVD + UHD Digital for $29.99?"

My answer was Maybe Not

I commented along the same lines for this.

As much as I like quality, this is just stupid. People spend enough on the disc, that includes the digital copies, and then they want you to pay double for UHD? I wonder if redeeming the HD codes now gives you the UHD instead of HDX? I ask that because my Jupiter Ascending I redeemed the HDX, now with UHD, the redeem button is back open for me to redeem a code...

But asking that much for a digital copy makes me want to go back to buying the discs and say screw digital.
