The colour is off on the new release. The skin tones are now red, this is wrong also the highlights are now over blown. I will be keeping my old set.

Colour sucks on the new one. The ice looks so unnatural in the vid comparison. I'd hate to see what the other scene look like. Every Korean would have brown hair and a red face.

Immediate purchase for me on this one, I'll be getting it since I missed the original Blu-ray release hopefully the color will be correct on this one.

Edit, I just went to Novamedia's website and even though this has not been released yet, it says "SOLD OUT." Does this mean they are not taking any more pre-orders on this????

OK, I just skipped through some scenes and... it hurts a lot, believe me, but it looks really waxy to me

I'm even angry at Nova Media right now. I shouldn't have spent so much money to buy this a second time.
It looks the same to me as the previous disc in terms of grain and textures... well in terms of lack of grain and textures to be exact.
Of course, it seems the color timing is quite different in some places (I didn't take the time to compare both discs so I rely on my memory here) but it's not worth the money if you ask me.
I'm sorry for the bad news, guys.

It seems the japanese disc is still the way to go... unfortunately not english friendly

Maybe I'm too demanding. Maybe, my blu-ray player plays tricks on me, so I hope someone will be able to confirm this. And I hope we'll se a proper comparison in the near future.
But, right now, I'm pissed.

I've been posting in the other thread before now.

I watched mine last night and didn't notice any waxiness. It's a bit inconsistent though as some scenes have more grain/noise than others. I just think the source is not the best for whatever reason that may be. When comparing to the Content Zone release from a few years back this new one has much more fine detail and looks a much cleaner picture. The Content Zone looks like a very good dvd upscale as it has a very soft/blurry look throughout but the new remaster doesn't.

The red push on the new remaster is not distracting either - faces didn't look red. I only noticed it more when direct comparing it to the other release.

It's not perfect but the best version I've seen so far (what's the Japanese release like?).

Oh no, thank you for your review. I will watch mine when I receive it and will share my thoughts. Will play on BD player and 4K Player. This is one of my fav Korean movies. I thought they were doing a remaster for this version (?) I saw something on Nova's FB Page long time ago...Hmmm...

Don't get me wrong, it certainly looks better in terms of details. You can see it's been remastered and it's different from the previous release.

Still, it's really soft again. Some backgrounds are really DNR'd and it shows, it's why I'm pissed. It seems they ruined a good master again (remember what they did to The Isle). I begin to think this company has an history of doing these kind of things...
No more blind buys / pre-orders from me.

Wonder if they fixed the colour issues? Don't really want to be double dipping on this when I already have the first Blu-ray and this could also have ''issues''.

which could lead to another replacement disc situation, which has all kinds of difficulties associated with it, as we know - most difficult to cope with was how little it has been spoken about as an issue (by label in english, and by buyers in the west), as though too many are buying K editions as speculations and they don't ultimately care ... ?

i have the original K BD, sticking with that. undoubtedly.

Agree completely and also staying with the original release (which looks fine, btb).
