Arrow 1960s Television Shows on Blu-ray

Below are 1960's titles released in North America. I'm hoping we'll eventually see Wild Wild West and Route 66 make it to Blu-ray. What's on your wish list?

The Alvin Show

The Andy Griffith Show: Season 1

The Avengers: Season 5

Batman: The Complete Series

The Dick Van Dyke Show: The Complete Series

Lost in Space: The Complete Adventures

The Monkees - Complete TV Series

Star Trek: The Original Series, Three-Season Pack

The Prisoner: The Complete Series

Thunderbirds: The Complete Series

The Twilight Zone: The Complete Series

Yeah, I too would like to see some Hanna-Barbera like The Jetsons, Scooby-Doo, Where are You, and Jonny Quest. (I watched The Flintstones as a kid, but it doesn't really appeal to me now.) Since they're owned by WB, I'm not counting on it.

I think The Munsters is a title that would do well on BD. It only ran two seasons (a whopping 70 episodes), so it would be a great candidate for a complete series set.

Besides The Monkees, are there any others in the works?

Love the 60s TV shows! Maverick is another old favorite. I used to sing the theme song all the time.

Oh, and a couple of Chuck Connors favorites ... The Rifleman and Branded. I'm not sure if I would buy either, but I sure loved them as a kid. And again, like Maverick and so many others, they had such catchy theme songs.

I grew up watching reruns of The Rifleman with Chuck Connors. I always thought of it as a 1950s series, but I just did a search and it was half in the 50s and half in the 60s. Now I know to add it next time I list most wanted 1960s TV shows.

Yes, I suppose I cheated a little bit by listing both The Rifleman and Maverick ... as they both started in the 1950s, but ended in the 60s. They were both big favorites while I was growing up. Actually, I can probably say that about most of the shows that are listed.

Watched Maverick all the time as a kid. Those Warner Brothers formula shows, westerns and detective, worked great. The WB vault is filled with old shows from the 60's. To name a few:

Westerns (in addition to Maverick):
Cheyenne
Sugarfoot
Bronco
Lawman
Colt .45

Detective:
77 Sunset Strip
Hawaiian Eye
Bourbon Street Beat
Surfside 6
Roaring 20's

I'd love to see a lot of these, but the market is barely there for TV on DVD, much less Blu, especially with the prices companies like CBS/Paramount charge.

I love the Dark Shadows in SD on Blu idea, though, especially if it would cut the price.

Anyway, someone mentioned Dragnet earlier, and while I'd rather see the 50s version finally get a release on any format, Adam-12 would fit with the 60s shows on Blu theme, and would be nice to see.

I'd love to see The Rifleman as well. I've seen episodes here and there on TV but now I'm starting from the beginning. Hulu has all five seasons but they stretched it to widescreen and it looks like garbage. Amazon Prime has it in the correct aspect ratio but they don't have Season 5 (they didn't have Season 3 either but that just showed up today, so I'm hoping it's only a matter of time for Season 5 to show up so I don't have to watch it on Hulu when I get to it)

That would be a good one. It also reminded me of Get Smart!. I'd love to have that series in HD.

The Fugitive
The Saint

However, Im Ok with the DVD seasons I have of The Fugitive, the picture on them is fairly crisp for DVD. Other than condensing down shelf space for a box set, I dont see a need to upgrade.

The Saint, I dont have the DVD box set of that as of yet as its still up in price I think for a series set, so if that were introduced on BluRay after a decent drop in price, I would be interested.

The pilot for The Fugitive is really sharp for a DVD, the other entries could stand to be improved.

The Saint would be marvelous to have on blu as well.
