United Kingdom Wild Orchid (Zalman King)

Wild Orchid Blu-ray REVIEW

This is the release of Wild Orchid to own!

It looks better than the one Olive Films produced and it has the longer Unrated Version of the film. A favorite film of mine with a truly phenomenal soundtrack. I could not be happier.

Fantastic cover from Eureka for the Blu-ray release

It would be great if we could get the second film on Blu-ray as well, but I would really love to see the second 9 1/2 Weeks film. Those who dismissed it also completely missed the mark on it -- it is a very stylish piece. Angie Everhart and Mickey Rourke look fantastic in it. It was released only on DVD only in 1.33:1. If possible, let's have a Blu-ray release!

Well, Carré Otis' performance as an actress is quite underwhelming to say the least. She has the presence of a log, except that termites can sometimes give the impression that the log has emotions.

Thanks for the review. However, the review does not seem to mention if the unrated version is also in 1080p, or if there are any differences between the two in terms of image and audio quality.

It is in 1080p. The bigger question is why Eureka even bothered to put the cut R-rated version on the disc in the first place, particularly as the two versions are not seamlessly branched.

Due to it being the theatrical cut, we have lost quite a few of them to time

Thanks for clarifying. Though I feel it would be good to specifically mention it in the actual review in the future, because the details at the top of the page are freely editable by all members, and thus quite often incorrect, even if the title has been reviewed by staff. I don't mean to imply that any of yours have been incorrect in the past (mostly US reviews), but I have been burned multiple times because of incorrect data, be it region coding, subtitles and whatnot.

We very much disagree.

Another pointless term invented by the old guard -- something is either porn or it isn't. Wild Orchid is most definitely not porn.
