Man, I have never owned any of these in any format but until there is verification Zavvi will be doing all of them I don't think I can commit.

The art does look nice though.

I was not into steelbooks early enough for the Walmart ones. I have seen them from time to time at FYE and Dollar Tree but even though they were priced cheap finding mint ones was damn near impossible so I passed on them.

What worries me is that they are releasing the 2nd and 5th in the franshise first.

I own all the Walmart ones and Retribution from Best Buy. Took me a while to track down mint copies of the first four. The art is great on this, but I'm not rebuying this franchise.

I agree with Smigro, why the announcement of 2 and 5? If they were only doing the mediocre installments, they'd might as well announce 3 at the same time.

The fact that they are doing both 2 and 5 and Guillory's Jill, who was one fo the main characters in both, isn't anywhere to be seen on either one makes these extremely disappointing releases and the easiest passes I'll ever make on a steel.

Imo Apocalypse is the best of the series, if Zavvi were releasing them all, they should have had different characters on each steelbook, Milla on the first, Guillory on the second etc

Definitely. It is one of the movies I love to love. I can see why review scores are low, but it was pretty damn good with a nice cast. Milla Jovovich did a great job. I can also see why people will pass up this steelbook due to an incomplete collection, but I don't care about the others (except #1). They were alright movies, but not something I'd invest in a second time. Apocalypse is a weak spot of mine.

The first movie was distributed in the UK by Pathe, I know Sony released a box-set that included but I doubt they have the rights to release it individually as the disc has the Pathe logo on it.

We will probably end up with another situation like the incomplete Blade and IP Man UK SteelBook collections.

The UK releases look an absolute mess on the shelf. You got the ugly Pathe logo on the 1st one and no 'thumbnail' pic, then 2 and 3 have the traditional Sony spine, then the 4th in 3d is a clear case with the inlay to give a 3d effect and the 'thumbnail' is out of line, then the 5th has a slipcover!

With UK ratings logos plastered all over every facet, of every release...studio logos/thumbnail pics(or lack thereof) would be the least of my concerns.

Looks like Zavvi will be releasing IP Man Steelbook as a Trilogy.
